About this house rental
located at an altitude of 800 m in the Nice hinterlands, and leaned on the South side of the Gourdan mountain, the 'Petit Cheinet' gite is a stunning peaceful heaven which will seduce the more exigent nature lovers. From the terrace equipment From the swimming pool or the different rooms, the Massif de l'Esteron opens before you in a wonderful and soothing scenery.
What is striking here, is the quietness. After leaving the 202 trunk road and the vallée of the Var, close to Entrevaux, small medieval village of Provence, you will need to go through two mountain passes to reach the hamlet of Petit Cheinet, an end of the world that no one would have expected!
We did our best in this gite to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Here, time stops, you left behind the consumption society et can now softly relax in the middle of a nature which offers you a large choice of leisure activities (walks, cycling, canyoning, climbing and swimming....).

We've stayed here twice now it's so good. It is in a brilliant remote location- only the sound of nature. The south facing terrace catches the sun all day with a lovely private pool to cool off in. The views- astounding, huge views across the low forest covered mountains, not a sign of road, house or fields, just pure natural beauty. In spite of it's remote location, there's so much to see- it's still reasonable to get to the beach if you don't mind the drive, or even up to the higher snow capped mountains. Nearby are stunning narrow gorges and isolated rivers to swim in. For the more adventurous there are Via Ferrata and Canyoning activities not far off. An absolutely stunning area that we've only scratched the surface of in 2 wonderful visits. Adding to this, the owner's have been fantastic to deal with throughout, with lots of local advice if you want it. The gite is clean, well-equipped and recently modernised but retaining a rustic feeling without the trappings of modern life (I hope it never has a TV or internet!). This is somewhere to really escape from it all. My 6 year old loved it too!
