This cottage is a real "home" which is ideally situated in the midst of the beautiful "Montagnes Bourbonnaises", with plenty of varied walks accessible immediately from the house. As well as a beautiful garden with views, the house also benefits from a light conservatory from which you can still admire the same views on a rainy day, and a logfire for when it gets cold outside! It is in an incredibly tranquil location (maximum 6 cars pass the house on any one day) and a real "get-away-from-it-all" holiday home. Furthermore the owner is most charming and helpful should you need anything - but else respects your privacy fully. We had a wonderful stay and hope to go back to explore the countryside further.

The location is beautiful, perfect if you want to get away from daily life and routine for a few days, ideal for walking. The closed garden is very handy for the dog so they can ran around. The house has everything you need.

This property is located in a beautiful location and well suited as a base for walks/hikes. Lapalisse has nice shops for cakes and meats, and a small supermarket for essentials. Vichy, Digoin and Roanne are easy drives within about 40mins. Le Mayet-de-Montagne is also an easy drive and has a supermarket and fuel. All unique places and we enjoyed them all very much. Accommodation is fully equipped and would recommend to a friend who wants to get away from major towns and enjoy hill walking.

We have had a wonderful week in this fully equipped cottage in the hill 6km above Arfueilles. Marie could not have been more friendly and helpful. Amazing, wooded, hilly walking countryside with views forever. Walking trail guide in English would have helped, but we enjoyed the challenge! Shop before coming as limited stores in Arfueilles. Thank you Marie

The views were brilliant. The cottage was comfortable and had every facility. The garden was enclosed and safe for the dogs. The landlady was very helpful and flexible. I was under the impression that I had paid by credit card but we worked out a way that she received the cash she expected now to chase you lot (Home Away).

Clean and tidy cottage with lots of charm. Rural "away from it all" location so great for relaxing. Comfortable and with all the essentials. Not too far from small villages for the essentials. Beautiful cottage with stupendous views

This cottage is absolutely perfect - warm and cheerful and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The glassed verandah/dining room is divine and looks out over a gorgeous garden and fabulous countryside. Don't let the road worry you - we saw about 6 cars in the week we stayed. Fabulous cycling and walks from the door. The owner is an absolute delight - a perfect blend of being very friendly and helpful, but also very careful not to intrude on the privacy of her guests. Nothing was too much trouble, and she was very patient with our terrible French as well as having excellent English. We only had a week here, but will definitely return for longer on our next trip to France to further explore the area. You do need a car for shopping and expeditions to markets and discovering the greater area. Unreservedly recommended for lovers of the French countryside, cyclists and walkers and those who just like to sit in a gorgeous garden looking at a wonderful view, listening to bird song and sipping a pre-dinner aperitif.

This cottage is really something special. It is perfect for anyone wanting to relax and unwind, especially nature lovers. We saw lots of different birds and wildlife both in the lovely garden and nearby. The cottage was extremely clean, well kept and comfortable. The sun room was perfect for enjoying the view or bird watching over breakfast and the wood burner made the living room cosy in the chilly September evenings. The owner was quick to respond and very helpful and welcoming. She gave us a mobile phone number to contact her with any problems we might have (though we did not need to use it). The area is fantastic for walking with options from the cottage itself or mulitiple different circuits clearly signed in every local village. We will definitely return and could happily have stayed forever!

Perfect cottage holiday to escape, unwind and relax. The cottage was extremely clean, warm and inviting. The owner; Mme Marie-Pierre David was extremely helpful and kind and nothing was too much trouble. The views are stunning and the nature surrounding the cottage was excellent, just a shame we forgot the binoculars! The log burner was a cosy addition for those slightly chilly May evenings. Would definately return and recommend to family and friends. To be honest we were reluctant to leave!!

What a lovely home away from home. As a family we always look for holiday homes that are far away from the daily buzz. A home maintained with love. This house has it all. A beautiful location with both forest and views. You need to drive a bit to surrounding villages for the boulangerie, groceries etc. But it is there. A great boulangerie in Nizerolles, and we went to the supermarket after visiting the historical villages. Beautiful walks in the area, even close to the home. Chateaus, villages, vineyards, activities for families such as velorail. A caring owner, very friendly and complete in communication. If you want to take a rest from activities, the house has a lovely garden and the house itself is such a pleasure to be in.

Nos remerciements sincères à l'adorable propriétaire pour ce séjour extraordinaire. Sa maison avait été un coup de cœur sur le site de réservation mais le plaisir et la sérénité ressentis à y vivre pendant une semaine nous ont comblé de bonheur, nous et nos 2 petits chiens. C'est un endroit magnifique, avec une vue sur les collines avoisinantes à couper le souffle, une véranda dans laquelle les repas ont quelque chose de magique, d'où partent de belles randonnées, à quelques km d'une base de loisirs...et entre Vichy et Roanne. A l'année prochaine nous espérons pour revenir à la source d'une si belle énergie tant du lieu que de sa propriétaire.

Das Haus liegt abgelegen in hügeliger Wald-Weide-Landschaft. Hier kann man bestens vom Alltag Abstand nehmen, lesen und wandern oder einfach nur im großen Garten das Wetter und die Landschaft genießen. Zu den nächsten Märkten oder Einkaufsgelegenheiten sind es etwa 20 Fahrminuten. Im Haus ist alles Nötige vorhanden, im Wintergarten lässt sich auch gut ein Regentag verbringen. Die Eigentümerin ist sympathisch und unkompliziert. Sie bietet eigenen Honig zum Verkauf an. Wir können das Haus und die Auvergne allen empfehlen, die Natur lieben und es gerne etwas ruhiger haben.

Uns hat unser Aufenthalt in der Grange Bernard sehr gefallen. Das Häuschen ist abgelegen (man ist sozusagen in Quarantäne;)) und bietet alles, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub braucht. Der Blick auf die Landschaft ist wunderschön und man kann auch gleich vom Haus aus loslaufen. Die Begegnung mit der Vermieterin M. Pierre war sehr persönlich und freundlich! Ein schöner Urlaubsort!

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine de vacances avec 4 enfants dans le gîte. L'équipement est un peu juste pour 6 personnes mais la propriétaire avait pris soin de nous en informer et de discuter avec nous les détails. Maison très propre et très confortable.
