About this house rental
Charming village house on a 1000 m² plot, with a solar-heated swimming pool (9m x 4.20m) secured by a safety cover (compliant with safety standards and a small wooden barrier with a gate), 2 km from the citadel of Brouage (listed as "One of the Most Beautiful Villages of France" and a "Village of Stone and Water"), 15 minutes from the large beaches of Oléron and the wild coast, 30 minutes from Royan and 20 minutes from Île Madame.

The house, which sleeps 11, has a welcoming entrance hall, 4 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bedroom on the ground floor, a spacious kitchen with a pantry, a double living room, 2 shower rooms and 1 bathroom (bath and shower), 3 toilets, including 1 separate toilet on the ground floor.
The ground floor bedroom has its own private toilet and bathroom.
Four bedrooms (including the ground floor bedroom) have a double bed (140x190 cm), the fifth has a single bed (90x190 cm) and a bunk bed (2 x 90x190 cm), for a total of three beds in this room. Two travel cots are also available.
There is a duvet for each bed, and the pillows are square (63x63 cm).
Bed linen (fitted sheets, duvet covers, and pillowcases) IS NOT PROVIDED. It can be rented along with towels with advance notice.
Tea towels are provided.
The kitchen is fully equipped (oven + microwave, dishwasher, washing machine in the utility room, etc.) and opens onto a terrace and the garden.
The living room, over 30 m², features a dining area and a lounge area with a sofa, armchairs, television, and DVD player. It also opens onto the terrace and garden.
You can enjoy the gas barbecue grill under its attractive pergola, relax on the sun loungers, or unwind in the swimming pool.
Wi-Fi is available in the house.
A mandatory cleaning fee of €140 will be charged upon arrival (this does not include cleaning the kitchen; however, dishes must be washed and put away, and the oven, stovetop, and barbecue grill must be left clean by the tenant. The tenant must also remove the trash).
Charging electric vehicles is not permitted and is strictly prohibited on the property.
The house is rented from Saturday to Saturday.

We stayed with two families with kids. This fits well. Not an ideal floorplan. 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom on the first floor. 1 bedroom and 2 bathrooms on ground level.
We enjoyed our stay, mainly because of the good kitchen, great garden en pool area. Not so much because of the house itself.
The double beds are small and the mattresses can use an upgrade. It is relatively dark, during summer this brings coolness.
The house is located directly on a small sleepy street. The village itself isn't interesting, but within 10m drive, you have everything. 2 big supermarkets, kids beach etc. It is very well situated to reach the highlights of the area.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay since we spent 90% of our time outside playing and swimming. It's a relatively good house with all you need. Price/ Value is good I guess. The deposit is too high for a house like this.
