About this apartment rental
Ideal for a couple, the La Glycine vacation rental is a large, bright studio that blends authentic features (exposed beams and stone walls) with contemporary design. It is located on the garden level of a charming historic house (staircase with a handrail and 11 steps). It faces north onto a courtyard bordered by a cliff featuring a cave-dwelling cellar, and south onto a front porch that opens onto a terrace.
The furnishings are modern and colorful.
You’ll enjoy all the comforts: a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and all the small appliances you need.
The cottage features a 1.60-meter-wide bed, a sofa, and Wi-Fi.
In the bathroom, you’ll find a walk-in shower, a washing machine, and a dryer. The toilet is separate. All linens are provided: sheets, bath towels, dish towels, etc. All utilities are included.
The cottage is “just a stone’s throw from the castle” and a 10mm walk from the town center of Auvers-sur-Oise, a small village that has attracted many Impressionist and contemporary painters.
All of them—and Vincent van Gogh in particular—were captivated by this “very special” light. Auvers is “profoundly beautiful,” Vincent wrote. The village owes its international fame to him.
As you stroll around, you can visit:
* the church painted by Vincent van Gogh in June 1890, and its listed staircase
* the cemetery, where the twin graves of Vincent and his brother Theo are forever united beneath the ivy
* the castle located… just a stone’s throw from your home!
* Daubigny’s home and studio
* the Ravoux Inn, where Vincent spent his final days
* the home of Dr. Gachet, Vincent van Gogh’s friend and physician
* the Absinthe Museum
* the Ravoux Inn, where Vincent spent his final days

Finally, a stroll along the banks of the Oise will take you to the Botin, a replica of Daubigny’s boat—he tirelessly sought to capture the effects of water. You can embark on a short cruise, admire the magic of the lights, and let yourself be carried away by the beauty of the landscapes (registration required).
Starting from the cottage, you have immediate access to the Vexin’s cycling and hiking trails. Rue Victor Hugo, where the cottage is located, has become a section of the “Paris-London” Avenue Verte.
And, if you venture a little further afield, be sure to visit the sites in the Île-de-France region (Royaumont Abbey, Ecouen Castle, etc.)... and Paris is just 35 km away, easily accessible by train!!

We are so happy we stayed here. The apartment is extremely well equipped and comfortable. Lovely outdoor spaces adjoin front and back. The location is convenient to village shops, restaurants and the very interesting art history that exists in Auvers. And the hosts will make you happy you stayed here.

We stayed here during the olympic games and had a wonderful holiday with days in Paris (the train line is very convenient) and days enjoying the peace and tranquility of the gite garden, the beautiful village of Auvers, and cycling along the Oise and nearby.
The hosts are such friendly people and did everything they could to ensure we had a great time. We really hope to visit again soon, thank you!

An excellent apartment and delightful, excellent and welcoming hosts. The apartment was more than we had hoped and was most comfortable and cosy and a good size for the two of us. There was all the basics and more to make our stay comfortable. There was also use of an excellent and interesting garden/terrace. Situated just 10 mins from the train station where the train to Paris is a mere 10 euros and 30 minutes away. The town of Auvers sur Oise is a must for anyone interested in Van Gogh or art in general. There are walks around the town, by the river or through the forest and a grand chateaux and museums to visit, even out of season. On our last day we found an artist painting in his workshop and there were young painters dotted about the town (even though it was v. cold) painting in the open as V.G. would have. Overall a wonderful holiday and never to be forgotten.

Dream location in Auvers-sur-Oise on the Road of Impressionists ! The wonderful hosts, Nicole and Alain, warm and yet non-intrusive, have anticipated all conveniences and needs ! And finally, the setting is unimaginably beautiful, high above the river valley !
