My family and I stayed here for 7 nights of our 3 week vacation in Germany. Birkenhof was our favorite part of the trip. The grounds are simply amazing and very relaxing. The main home has so much sleeping and entertaining area, that our large group never felt crowded. The kitchen is small, but has everything you need. The home is even better than the photos and description portray. The location is great with a 20 minute drive to both Timendorfer Strand and Lubeck. We definitely want to come back!

Wir haben meinen 50. Geburtstag mit 70 Personen im "Pferdestall" gefeiert. Familie und Freunde wurden im Herrenhaus einquartiert. Alle waren restlos begeistert von dem Ambiente und der Ausstattung des Hauses. Auch unsere Freunde aus Venedig haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt in dem geschmackvoll eingerichteten Haus. Wir verbrachten nette Abende in gemütlicher Runde im großzügigen Esszimmer. Die Bewirtung von 18 Personen war trotz kleiner Küche kein Problem. Wer Ruhe suchte hatte die Möglichkeit sich auf sein Zimmer zurückzuziehen oder es sich in einem der anderen Wohnräume gemütlich zu machen. Die Kinder bevorzugten die Sitzecke in der Wohnhalle neben dem Kamin um Brettspiele zu spielen oder das kleine Spiel- und Lesezimmer nebenan. Trotz einiger Absagen wegen Schnee war es am 30. Januar ein gelungenes Fest mit vielen zufriedenen Gästen. Der Partyservice "Gusto mio" gleich nebenan lieferte ein geschmackvolles Antipasti-Buffet und ein Schlachter aus der Umgebung sorgte mit einem leckeren Spanferkel ebenfalls für das leibliche Wohl. Der örtliche Zeltverleiher stattete den "Pferdestall" mit dem notwendigen Mobiliar, Getränken und Heizung aus. Ein Verleih aus dem Ort sorgte für die entsprechende Dekoration. Ein DJ aus Lübeck gab dem Ganzen den entsprechenden musikalischen Rahmen, es durfte auch getanzt werden. (Tanzfläche im Pferdestall vorhanden). Ein netter Nachbar hielt die Zufahrt und den Hof mit seinem Trecker schneefrei. Nachbarschaftshilfe wird in dieser Region groß geschrieben. Alle haben sich rundherum wohl und gut betreut gefühlt. Das Haus ist für Familien, Freunde oder auch kleine Seminare sehr empfehlenswert.

Selbst wenn man lange nachdenkt, faellt einem nichts ein, an dem man herummaekeln moechte oder koennte: ein wunderschoenes grosses und grosszuegig ausgestattetes Haus auf einem ebensolchen Anwesen in idyllischem Umfeld. Bis zum naechsten Supermarkt in Ahrensboek ist es nicht weit, und bei einem Spaziergang dorthin kann man neben den Rehen auf dem Anwesen noch Pferde auf dem Weg fuettern. So kommen auch die Kinder nicht zu kurz, wenn sie nicht gerade auf der wirklich imposanten Schaukel vor dem Haus sitzen. Die Freizeitmoeglichkeiten in der Umgebung sind vielfaeltig und werden zudem von den Vermietern durch einen Ordner voller Angebote unterstuetzt. Die Lage bietet eine Fuelle an Ausflugszielen: Ostsee, Timmendorfer Strand, Fehmarn, Luebeck, Bad Segeberg, und nicht zuletzt haben wir historischen Boden in Malente betreten. Und sollte man mal auf dem Anwesen bleiben wollen, dann steht einem ruhigen Lese-, einem lustigen Grill- oder einem entspannten Fernsehabend nichts im Wege. Wir alle (sieben Erwachsene, ein Kind) haben den Urlaub sehr genossen!

Ein herrliches Anwesen in absolut ruhiger und idyllischer Lage. Viel Platz - im Haus und draußen - ideal für Familien mit Kindern. Einen nachhaltigen Eindruck hat bei uns die geschmackvolle Einrichtung hinterlassen. Wir hatten großes Glück mit dem Wetter und konnten die Ostsee richtig genießen. Ausflüge führten uns u.a. nach Lübeck, Hamburg und Fehmarn - alles gut vom Birkenhof aus zu erreichen. Dieser schöne Familienurlaub (8 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder) wird uns in sehr guter Erinnerung bleiben!
