The water tower houses a large apartment with 130 m² on 6 floors + roof terrace.
The transformation of the water tower into an apartment was primarily designed for the careful handling of the existing building and represents a minimal intervention in the existing structure. The over 100 year history of the water tower remains tangible. The round shape and materiality, which remains perceptible in all rooms, are particularly important. The result is an open living space that does not divide the tower into small rooms, but plays with open levels and the round shape.
The large cozy kitchen is on the ground floor. The room is covered by a brick dome. The old iron staircase leads you to the sleeping levels with baths above. The tower has a total of two bathrooms with shower, toilet and sink and an additional toilet with sink.
Above this, the room follows the history of the tower, which lies directly under the steel dome of the water tank.
The living room is now at the top of the former water tank itself. A large window was cut into the riveted tank wall, which gives a clear view of the wildlife park. In this extraordinary room there is another sleeping possibility for 2 people.
The water tower is crowned by the roof terrace over which the steel skeleton of the former roof extends.

The water tower is one of the most unusual places we have ever stayed. Added a fun note to our trip. The unit was extremely clean, kitchen worked well for our needs, plenty of bathroom space for 8 adults. The welcoming bottle of sparkling wine was a nice touch. The living room (also the top bedroom) was a bit of a challenge to access by the steep ladder. We didn't even try to get luggage up there. The unit was within easy walking distance of the train station, restaurants, and Sansoucci Palace. I highly recommend, especially for those with an adventurous spirit.

In unserer Planung für unseren Potsdam-Trip haben wir nach einen Fewo für 7 Personen gesucht. Der Wasserturm hat und
sofort begeistert. Alle weiteren Planungsschritte waren ideal.
Und dann....., der Wasserturm "in echt"...... einfach TOLL.
Für Menschen die sich kennen und mögen richtig schön!!!
