About this cottage rental

The self-catering cottage constructed of local Cornish stone has two bedrooms, one with king size bed, the other with two single beds. The cottage is located within a rural setting with valley views across towards Bodmin , St Austell, The Moors.

The cottage has a lounge/diner with patio doors leading to an extensive garden, a fully fitted kitchen, (washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle ,coffee percolater , iron ,ironing board) and a fully fitted walk in shower . The cottage also has storage facilities, TV (included within bedrooms and living room),Full fibre fast wifi included, extensive car parking and full central heating. Bedding and Linen are also provided.
Please note: The wood burning stove is NO LONGER functional, so simply for cosmetic purposes.

Lansallos beach is approximately 0.75 miles away accessed by a footpath from the village of Lansallos. The fishing villages of Polperro (2 miles) and Looe (7 miles) are nearby while the popular town of Fowey is just four miles away across the Bodinnick Ferry and all easily accessible by car . The cottage is an excellent base to explore southern Cornwall and beyond by road and rail - with mainline railway stations at Liskeard (10 miles) and Lostwithiel (5 miles) being nearby.The rental week is from Saturday to Saturday arrivals from 4pm and departures are by 10.00am.

Large,comfortable, well equipped cottage with beautiful views. Approximately 1 mile walk from the south west coast path and Lansallos beach which is a pretty and quiet little cove. The walks can be very strenuous if you're not used to the hills.Close to many attractions such as the eden project e also found some smaller places to visit such as Porfell rescue centre, Caŕnglaze caverns and Golitha falls. The cottage is also close to a "dark sky" area on Bodmin moor and if you're able to stay up late and have a clear night, the stars are absolutely amazing. Matthew and family incuding the dogs are very friendly and helpful .A lovely holiday.

My husband and I stayed at Matthew's cottage for a little over two weeks and it was perfect! Very comfortable rooms, good kitchen (we made our own dinner on a few occasions), dishwasher, washing machine...most of the comforts of home but in an idyllic location of rolling hills and hidden coves. Close to great seaside towns and beautiful hiking by paths. We miss it and can't recommend it highly enough!

Higher polgassic cottage is a home away from home. It has everything you can possibly need and beautiful views over farmland and moors. We all enjoyed the peaceful location and matthew was a super host.lots of local knowledge

Best place we’ve stayed in Lansallos. More comfortable than nearby properties in the village itself. Position is exceptional in terms of privacy. Matthew is a great host and lets you get on with it - always courteous if he needs to access the gardens etc. He provides all you need to ensure your stay is as amenable as possible. He also orders the best weather imaginable for the location! Thank you for everything, Matthew - we will return again someday for sure .

We had a wonderful week at Matthew's place. It exceeded the description. It is clear, spacious, yet homely. The views are tremendous, overcto Bodmin moor. It is a great location, a few miles only from beautiful coast, and some great places on the moor. Stone circles, and the highest tea room in Cornwall. Loved it. Mattew was helpful , cheerful, and kind. The beds are super comfy. We will deffo be back !

The host Matthew is very helpful and friendly and always available to answer any questions. Very peaceful, in a quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle. View from the lounge looks out across the fields and valley. There is a local bus service to Polperro, Looe and Polruan which we used a few times (does drop off outside the front door). The property is roomy, warm, with plenty of hot water, great shower, well equipped kitchen (there is a fridge and the freezer compartment is small). However this was not an issue. Plenty of storage space for clothes, tvs in the bedrooms. This was a real find as we always stay on the north coast but thought we would experiment with the south this time. The local area is stunning - plenty of walks and the local villages are really pretty.

A great place for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is in a great location. Surrounded by fields and countryside, and only about a 20-30 minute walk to the beach. There is a coastal path nearby with some great views. Property was clean and had everything that we needed. Matthew was a great host. I would recommend this cottage.

Lovely cottage. Plenty of space and storage. Had everything we needed and it was a really comfy, easy place to feel at home and was warm, cosy and clean. Very friendly and helpful host, we felt really welcome and safe there. A wonderful location too. Beautiful rural views, so quiet and peaceful. Lots of incredible beaches to explore, easy access to coast path. Gorgeous little villages near by with great food options and things to do. Matthew was there to greet us, gave us a little insight in to the area and what was about and left us to it for the week. Being next door he was around should we need him. Property was exactly as advertised, lovely cottage with everything we needed for our stay. Quiet little area out the way. Took a walk down to Lansallos Cove after Matthew recommended it and it really is a beautiful little place. Compared to some places we’d looked up it really is value for money too! Would definitely stay again if he’d have us back 😂

Such a quiet, beautiful place to stay.our host and his family are so welcoming and friendly with a lot of knowledge about the local area if your stuck on things to do. The actual accomodation was very well kept very clean and spacious with plenty of room for a family of four. The grounds were excellent and totally enclosed so we're were able to let our two girls run riot without fear of them getting out so also good if you have dogs I suppose! The views are stunning and we will certainly return in the future.

Higher Polygassic Cottage We have just spent a tremendous week away in Cornwall at Polygassic Cottage with the added bonus of perfect weather. The cottage itself was perfect for us, in a very quaint and tranquil area of Lansallos but within easy reach of many beautiful sights and SouthEast coastal walks. It was lovely and clean with everything we needed and attention to detail. We enjoyed using the BBQ with outstanding views over the countryside. The local sheep would also come up to say hello. There is a local beach within walking distance of about 30 mins, easy to get down a little more challenging coming up but it’s completely unspoilt and lovely and quiet. Will happily return in the future. Matthew was the perfect host, available if you needed him giving us lots of information on arrival and his Cottage really is a hidden gem with everything you need.

We had a super week at Matthew's cottage. Lovely and quiet and yet within easy reach of plenty of activity if required. Everything was exceptionally clean and had all the necessary facilities to make our stay comfortable. Superb views are just a bonus! We will be back.

This is a lovely cottage with good size rooms and a comfortable bed. The kitchen has plenty of cutlery, pots and pans, crockery and glasses. It also has plenty of cupboard space for food, We had control of the heating thermostat so were always warm enough. Matthew was a great host. My husband and I are both disabled and Matthew offered to help with the luggage. He also helped get my wheelchair into the house to be charged as we couldn't managed due to the gravel path and back out the next morning. We had a problem with the power going off on the first evening and Matthew was round within a couple of minutes of my texting him. He arranged for an electrician to come and kept me informed when they were going into the cottage and what the outcome was. The electrician said that the dishwasher was faulty and Matthew went out the next morning to buy another one. I've never had a problem sorted as quickly in a holiday home as this one was. We just couldn't fault it. My husband thinks I should have given 10 stars out of five. I wish I could. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage.

The cottage is very comfortable with great views and is located in a lovely peaceful setting, which provided the perfect base for exploring the surrounding area. Matthew provided a warm friendly welcome upon arrival and showed us around. It is well equipped and had everything we needed. There was some rough weather during our stay and the cottage felt safe and cosy against the strong winds and heavy rain. When the sun came out it was lovely to sit outside in the lovely garden and enjoy the peace and tranquility, away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life.

Stayed in the cottage Feb 2023 with husband and teenage son, he was thrilled that the WiFi worked amazing! Location of cottage was perfect for beautiful local walks, Polruan, Fowey, Looe and Polperro all within few minutes drive. The cottage itself was great with all appliances we needed. Matthew the host was there to greet us and at hand locally if ever needed. Would highly recommend this cottage for anyone wanting a quiet location with beautiful rolling hills scenery and sheep in the garden. Thank you Matthew and we look forward to staying again.
