We travelled as a couple with our one-year-old son. The accommodation is right on the water in a very quiet and scenic area. The hosts gave us a friendly welcome and were helpful. Unfortunately, you can't get close to the accommodation by car and there is only a path made of wood shavings to get there. For people with heavy luggage or disabilities, this information may be helpful in advance. Overall, the accommodation could be renovated or repaired in some places. For example, the floor is broken and torn up in many places. There was also some mould in the shower. Regardless of the things we criticised, we liked the accommodation. It was tastefully furnished and many everyday items were already available. The only thing that irritated me was that we had to pay extra for the bed linen. Unfortunately, after a few days, both our son and a short time later we got bite marks and a rash, which strongly indicated that there were bed bugs in the accommodation, so we left a day early. Compensation was refused. Due to the last mentioned points, I can only recommend the accommodation with some reservations.

We loved travelling up the canal and to the lake in the rowing boat and also enjoyed day trips to Amsterdam and Utrecht! We would love to come back! Had a fantastic stay at this property. Was just about large enough for 6 people with all the facilities you need. The biggest surprise was the location which is absolutely beautiful. Very nice hosts as well.

Gijs ensured we had everything we needed and that the property was all setup. Many essential day-to-day items were provided (salt, pepper, sugar, cooking oil, washing up tablets, and many more), which is a lovely touch. We had free use of the rowing boat, canoes and SUPs right on the doorstep. The unique location of the place makes you feel right in the middle of nature with so many different birds around. Five stars all around.

Can’t fault this place at all. The location is so peaceful, with beautiful sunrises over the water. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the use of the motor boat with access to the main lake. Loved swimming straight off the deck and also Kayaking. Efteling and Walibi are both an hour away by car, which were great fun but didn’t go much further as the weather was amazing so spent a lot of time relaxing by/in/on the water. The view from the terrace is special and we enjoyed breakfasts and evening BBQs whilst absorbing the ambiance. The owners were very pleasant and helpful. Looking forward to our next visit!

Fantastic holiday. Property lovely right by the waters edge, with a rowing boat we used daily for trips around the fantastic lake. Fished outside the house caught loads of Bream, Roach and Rudd. Had a great day in Amsterdam 20 mins by train from Breukelen station.

If you are a city person this is not for you. If u love nature, birds, sheep, horse, green trees, fields and a deck on quiet water this is for you. So i loved it. 5 minute drive to the town of Breukelin which had everything you need. Grocery store and restaurants. (The asian a la carte restaurant was great). It would have been 5 stars if there had been air conditioning but I understand Holland doesnt get the heat waves we in Toronto, Canada do. Our hosts were lovely people.

The house is at the end of the property and looks out onto the water. The sunrise in the morning is beyond belief. The house is very well done and has everything you need. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We hated to leave and would definitely stay here if we return to the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the sights in the area.

Accomodation nice and warm-useful as it was April and cool outside. Good range of facilities including a very useful washing machine and tumble drier. Excellent wifi which made planning days out easy. Good base to visit lots of different towns and useful for Schipol. Useful having owners on site with their local knowledge -came in very handy when using the train to Amsterdam. Struggled to find it initially but owners English helped us with instructions on the phone. Kids particularly loved the animals and the boat that came with the property. They even swam in the lake-the warm accomodation was much appreciated as was the lovely warm shower.

My mother, sister and daughter and I had a lovely week at this boat house. We enjoyed the rowing boat, canoes and swimming in the lake, made better because it was a heat wave! The place is convenient for Amsterdam and Utrecht with a car. The small town of Breukelen is nice and has supermarkets, restaurants etc. The owners of the house were very friendly and helpful. The property was clean and in good condition, and the internet connection was good. I would love to be able to visit again, especially in hot weather.

We had a wonderful holiday in Breukelen, the house was perfect for us and it was lovely to see all the wildlife. We swam in the lake everyday as the weather was beautiful. This was absolutely perfect for my multi-generation family stay. The location was exactly what we were looking for, the cottage was impressively stocked with everything needed and we were especially impressed with the high quality of the beds/mattresses, important for some of the older backs in the family. We also enjoyed the wildlife, from the duck couple who joined us for daily breakfast to the geese families on their daily swims. Gijs was also incredibly responsive to my questions and requests.

Many thanks to Gijs and Ying for a fabulous stay at 'De Duif ' including a great boat trip out on the lake. De Duif was very warm and comfortable and had everything we needed and the log burner had the house warm in a few minutes. A perfect base to go out exploring the local countryside on our tandem cycle - Cycling is very good here. A superb holiday location, we couldn't have wished for better. Jeremy and Jan

Hemos pasado 8 dias en esta fantástica cabaña del lago. Unas vacaciones familiares (con hijos de 6, 11 y 15 años) inolvidables. Las fotos no hacen justicia al sitio. Dispone de su propio embarcadero, con barca de remos y otra de pedales. Barbacoa delante del lago y atardeceres de ensueño. Los niños no querrán marchar. Cerca de Amsterdam y de Utrecht, pero en la preciosa Holanda rural. Muy bien situada. Desde aquí hemos realizado todo lo más emblemático en este precioso país; incluso pasamos un día entero en la isla frisia de Ameland (unos 190Km para poder tomar el ferry). Sitio muy, muy, muy recomendable. Anfitrión muy amable y dispuesto a solucionarte cualquier duda o necesidad, sin ser para nada intrusivo. Perfecto. We have spent 8 days in this fantastic lake cabin. A family holiday (with kids 6, 11 and 15) unforgettable. The photos do not do justice to the site. It has its own pier with rowboat and a pedal-boat. Barbecue in front of the lake and dreamy sunsets. Children will not want to leave. Near Amsterdam and Utrecht, but in the beautiful rural Holland. Very well situated. From here we have made everything more emblematic in this beautiful country; even we spent a whole day on the Frisian island of Ameland (about 190km to take the ferry). Site very, very highly recommended. The owner is very friendly and willing to solucionarte questions or needs, without being at all intrusive. Perfect.

Very enjoyable family holiday in quiet location yet within easy reach of Amsterdam, windmills, Van Goghs and cycling! Children enjoyed rowing boat, pony and chickens. View amazing and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy it. Local town very smart with outdoor cafés and excellent supermarket. Owner very helpful but not intrusive.

This is a lovely lake house location right by the water's edge at the end of a little canal, one of many that lead to the lake. We made use of the rowing boat (seen in picture, moored outside the property) to explore the canals and lake. The house is simply furnished but well equipped, very comfortable and clean. Central location for exploring Amsterdam, Delft, Kinderdijk and many other tourist locations in a day. The price reflects the beautiful location in an expensive part of Holland. The owner (Gijs) took us out to explore the lake in the motor boat pictured here. Breukelen is quiet but there are a couple of shops and supermarkets, a few places to eat out and a market on Fridays.

We have just returned to the UK from a wonderful week's holiday in this beautiful location. Five of us stayed here, including 3 boys aged 15, 12 and 11. The holiday home is situated literally at the water's edge and the uninterrupted views from the house are just stunning, particularly the sunsets. We made full use of the boat which is moored directly in front of the house - you can row down the peaceful channel and into the huge lake at the end. The water is beautifully clear and perfect for swimming. The house itself is excellently appointed and had everything we needed. The hosts are wonderful and are extremely helpful in giving general local information. We visited Utrecht and Amsterdam (both half an hour away), the wildlife area in the sand dunes at Zaandvoort (an hour away) and spent a day at Walibi World, which was an amazing theme park with lots to offer families with both young and older children (and the young at heart!) - again this was within an hour and a half from the house. Best of all were the hours spent on and in the water just by the house, the walks to the village of Breukelen and the cycling routes. From a practical point of view, there is a large supermarket in Breukelen, cash machines, cafes and restaurants. However, we chose instead to barbeque at the house with an amazing view, sunset and a glass of wine, watching the herons, cormorants and swans.. Be sure to pack some insect repellent and enjoy yourselves (we all did!)

Hauptgrund für unsere Wahl war, dass dieses wunderschön gelegene Ferienhaus direkt am Wasser ist UND komplett umzäunt, so das kleinere Kinder nicht ins Wasser fallen können (solange die Pforte korrekt verschlossen ist). Wir hatten etwas Sorge da es kein Außenkinderspielbereich gibt, dass die Kinder sich zwischendurch langweilen würden, aber nix davon - sie haben mit den (wilden) Enten und den 4 Schafen direkt nebenan Freundschaft geschlossen; zudem durften Sie die Küchenabfälle dem Hausschwein bringen. Die Vermieter sind stets hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Aussicht ist gigantisch. Auch wenn nach Osten ausgerichtet, so kann man im Sommer den Sonnenuntergang über die Wiese nebenan bestaunen - schick. Das Haus an sich ist klein aber fein. Vielleicht wäre ein weiterer Satz kleine Teller nett. Aber die einrichtung ist sehr schön. Und natürlich das Boot direkt am Haus - mit dem man auch als ungeübte bis zum Ende (bis die große freie Seefläche im Osten beginnt) rudern kann und zurück. Schöne Natur, Häuschen und Hortensien, meine Güte, wieviele Hortensien haben da geblüht, bewundern kann. Einmal haben wir bei "De 1ste Aanleg" ein kleines Motorboot geliehen und sind damit bis zur Vercht getuckert (mit selbstzubedienender Schleuse, super Sache mit Kindern wenn man ein wenig Ahnung hat oder niederländisch versteht oder jemand hat der einem hilft - die anderen Bootsfahrer sind sehr hilfsbereit), sollte man aber 3h, besser 4h für einplanen und niemals am WE machen - da ist sehr viel los. (Manchmal kan man auch beim Vermieter ein Motor für das Ruderboot leihen, dieser war nur leider gerade defekt) Sehr empfehlenswert.

Genial für einen ruhigen Urlaub am Wasser. Kajaks, SUP und Ruderboot zu freien Verfügung. Bis auf ein Radio haben wir nichts vermisst. Die Unterkunft ist sauber, gepflegt und gut ausgestattet. Die Enten und Spatzen am Haus haben uns immer was zum Unterhalten geboten. Außerdem hat man immer irgendwo Sonne auf dem Grundstück. Wir waren begeistert und können die Unterkunft wärmstens empfehlen.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich und wertschätzend empfangen. Es gab einen wunderschönen frischen Blumenstrauß und eine Willkomenskarte. Es war als würden wir nach einer langen Reise nach Hause kommen. Das Objekt und die Umgebung sind ein Traum. Das Haus am See mit Steg und Boot. Wir haben es sehr genossen und noch vor Ort direkt wieder gebucht. Die ganze Familie inklusive unserer Kinder waren absolut begeistert. Wir freuen uns schon auf das nächste Mal.

Wir hatten hier eine richtig tolle Zeit in dieser Septemberwoche. Es gibt wahnsinnig viele Möglichkeiten die man dort aber auch in der näheren Umgebung machen kann. In und um die Loosdrechtsche Plassen kann man sich tagelang aufhalten ohne dass Langeweile aufkommt. Aber auch ein Tagesausflug nach Utrecht ist sehr zu empfehlen. Den tollen Ausblick vom Esstisch werden wir sowieso vermissen....

Der Blick auf das Wasser, die Terrasse und der mögliche Sprung ins Wasser sind grandios. Die Betten hervorragend, die Küche neu ; Dusche, Kleiderschrank und die Gartenmöbel würden eine Auffrischung gut tun. Das Vermieterehepaar ist sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns wohlgefült.

Het huisje is van alle gemakken voorzien. Veel fiets en wandelmogelijkheden in de prachtige omgeving. Breukelen is een klein leuk plaatsje op 2 km. afstand met een treinstation. Met de trein zit je zo in Utrecht of Amsterdam.

Een mooie goed verzorgde en nette vakantiewoning op een bijzondere mooie locatie aan het water gelegen met eigen steiger en roeiboot. Midden in de natuur met geluiden van eenden, ganzen en zwanen. De koekoek die je hoort bij het wakker worden. Het past allemaal heel mooi in het plaatje! Goede en vriendelijke ontvangst met duidelijke uitleg over het reilen en zeilen van de woning. En altijd bereikbaar voor vragen tussendoor. En ook de omgeving met zijn rijke historie is het ontdekken waard. Zeker ook op de fiets. Absoluut een aanrader!

Wir (vierköpfige Familie) haben uns in "De Duif" sehr wohl gefühlt und fanden die Austattung und die Sauberkeit des Hauses, die Ruhe und die Nähe zum Wasser ideal. Auch unsere Ausflüge nach Amsterdam, Scheveningen, Utrecht sowie Rotterdam und die Motorboot-Tour haben großen Spaß gemacht. Danke an die Vermieter für ihre Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft - wir kommen gerne wieder!
