About this apartment rental
Ideal oasis of calm right on Lake Ammer, where it is most beautiful. On the sunny wooden terrace (west) you can still enjoy the sunset when it is already getting dark on the lake promenade.
The apartment (44sqm) is comfortably and high quality furnished (leather ears armchair with lake view), double bed (180x200) with 2 x bedding and good mattresses (medium and hard) and high quality original box spring bed box.
The equipment in detail:
Real wood parquet floor, LED TV (32 inch) with cable, WiFi, radio, good coffee machine, toaster, ceramic stove / oven with extractor, bathroom (shower / tub), hairdryer, towels, wooden terrace (evening sun over the lake) with awning, Health lounger + rattan bench and chairs, comfortable seating area with leather bench, 2 ear leather armchairs, shelf with games and literature / illustrated books as well as hiking and cycling guides.
The apartment Ammerseeblick (hillside) is located in Schönbichlstraße 47 in a quiet apartment building a few steps above Lake Ammer (4 minutes on foot to the promenade). Train station and center about 8 minutes on foot. Munich can be reached in 40 minutes by S-Bahn.
The Schönbichlstraße runs above and parallel to the lake promenade and is little used. The nearest supermarket, bakery, butcher is about 5 minutes away on foot.

This was a very good flat for two people,very comfortable and well equipped with good quality furniture & furnishings. Particularly comfortable was the bed.The balcony was large and pleasant with a good view.
Dedicated parking space.
Being on the third floor,it is accessed by several external flights of stairs (40 handsome, granite steps, with 4 landings.)
We would happily return to it.

Great place for a couple to stay close to Munich, yet in "the country". We wanted to be near Munich for Oktoberfest, but be far enough away from the chaos and this place was it. If you plan on spending most of your time in Munich, take the S-bahn trip into consideration; it's about an hour one way. But it was also very easy to get everywhere we wanted to go on the S-bahn as well. Buy the 1 week pass, totally worth the money. Hersching is great for hiking, small town charm and relaxation! The flat was perfect, except for internet. The place is definitely set up for Germans, we never figured out if there was Wifi in the flat or not. Other than that, there is laundry onsite, and a well appointed kitchen, full bath(with a super fast, hot shower system), and an incredible bed! We are going to try to find the mattress at home, we slept so well. Phillip was very prompt with all emails and accommodating. Thanks for a great vacation!

Great get-away spot off the beaten path for most international tourists (i.e., not too crowded and the visitors here seem to mostly be locals!) 3rd floor walk-up roomy studio for two is built into a hillside on a quiet street in a very nice neighborhood overlooking other houses with sunset views of the lake. We stayed 8 nights and rented no car. Train S8 brings you directly from the airport to the Herrsching station in about 1.5 hours (45 minutes to downtown Munich) and about 15 - 20 minute walk-- mostly along the lake -- to the apt. Herrsching is a large enough town to have multiple restaurants, several grocery stores and bakeries all within easy walking distance (note that stores here are closed on Mondays.) The apartment is as described and met all of our needs. If you like to hike, swim in the lake, go for boat rides, eat (recommend restaurant at the Hotel zur Post for old fashioned, reasonably priced German food), drink great Bavarian beer or just sit in peace and quiet, then this is the place for you. We would definitely come back and would stay in this very comfortable apartment again. Happy Trails!
