Cosy Townhouse in Historic Centre

The location is absolutely superb! It’s located in a nice and quiet alley in Birgu. There are shops and restaurants nearby on the Piazza and if you walk to the waterfront there are a couple more there. You can take the little gondolas from the harbour straight to Valletta (€2 pp) or you can take the ferry boat from the other side of the harbour (€1.50 pp for a single trip), which includes a trip on the lift straight up to a lovely viewpoint in Valletta. The property has everything you need, including a cute little balcony. The kitchen has plenty of cutlery, pots & pans, plates, etc. It also has a cute breakfast table. The bed in the bedroom is very comfy and everything was very clean. There are fans, air conditioning and a heater to accommodate for all weather conditions. The location of the property makes that you don’t get any sun into the apartment, so it’s nice and cool when you come home in the evening to allow you to sleep without being crazy warm. The apartment also gives plenty of wardrobe space and a chest of drawers. There are plenty of towels in the drawers and even some beach towels, in case your forgot yours. At the end of your visit you can put them all in the laundry basket in the bathroom.

The oven didn’t work. We tried to use it on our last evening and it blew a fuse. The fuse box is downstairs, so not a major issue, but we couldn’t use the oven. There was 1x socket on the right hand side of the bed not working, but there’s plenty of sockets throughout, so also not a big issue. Some lights weren’t working, which made the kitchen slightly darker then we wanted, but there was still enough light to do what you need to do in a kitchen. There is no Netflix available on the television, even though the property is advertised as having Netflix. We found out that the TV had been changed. The welcome folder also needs updating. These are all minor details and definitely didn’t make our stay any less pleasant!

Location as it was authentic BIrgu. Apartment was bigger than expected, very well equipped and very clean. A short walk for swimming in the harbour.

The situation is lovely. A beautiful house in a beautiful town. Helen was very helpful. We loved the bars restaurants and the scenery. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Would it be possible to rearrange the bedroom to include some armchairs? That was the only thing missing really. Although after a days walking I was ready to put my feet up each evening!

Wonderful location. Characteristic Maltese townhouse. The kitchen appeared to be well equipped. However, I did not do any cooking or eating while there.

I found it difficult to sleep. The mattress was very soft and lumpy. The sheets were synthetic and scratchy. Cleanliness of bathroom needs to be improved - the toilet brush was extremely dirty and the bottom of the shower curtain was stained. A couple of shelves in the bathroom would be useful to put toiletries. The TV did not work when I was there.
