This 4 bed 2 bath house gives you the feel of a completely private cabin in the woods plus the convenience of being 10 minutes from town. Entertain on the massive back patio while you grill your catch of the day. The dock invites you to sit to enjoy the views and provides easy water access with steps that go right into the river. The adventures are endless in the beautiful, slow moving, clear waters of the Shenandoah; go tubing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming. Visit local wineries (10 wineries within 15 miles) and bring a bottle home to sit by a fire. Go hiking in nearby Shenandoah National Park or on the Appalachian Trail, ride horses on a guided trail ride, eat and shop at the famous Apple House. The fully furnished home sleeps 8 in bedrooms: bedroom #1 has a queen bed, bedroom #2 queen bed, bedroom #3 two twin beds, bedroom #4 queen size futon and a bunk bed of two twins. This was my first booking with VRBO, so I wasn't sure what to expect. My kids grew up on a river, so this home brought back so many memories. The home is well appointed with anything you would need. It was clean. So many places to enjoy the outdoors. The best spot in the house is having coffee on the deck that has views of the river. Thank you for having us.

We really enjoyed our four days here. It was so peaceful that we decided to spend one day just hanging around. Very comfortable seating inside and out, including a nice screened in porch that I enjoyed every morning. The grounds are very nice and having to cross the street (with no traffic) to get there is no problem. The host was very nice and easy to deal with, the place was clean and the beds were comfy. The only negative is that the second bathroom is downstairs, but the stairs are pretty steep and could definitely use a handrail. I'm elderly and it made me nervous. However, I'd rent again in a heartbeat.

I hosted my 16 and 18-year-old nephews and one of their pals for the weekend. They all LOVED it - spent the entire time fishing - from the canoe provided and also wading through the water, which is from knee to chest-high. I woke up the first morning to see them already across the river, in the canoe and wading chest-high in the water fishing-rods cast, herons flying and 35 small ducks cruising by. These young uns normally do not rise until at least noon. Over the two days we only saw 3 other people on the river. It was so quiet. The house and grounds surpassed my expectations - it was just perfect.
