We spent six weeks at home in the Black Forest at this lovely location! As others have noted, the tram stops just in front of the door, so although the apartment is not in the city of Freiburg, it takes just minutes (day or night) to get there. The hostess could not be more eager to be of support and assistance. The town of Günterstal is a wonderful respite from the churn of city life. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance, as well as many lovely hikes nearby. Even our suggestions to our hosts were taken seriously at the first mention. The apartment is clean, roomy, welcoming, and extremely well-appointed. It was hard to leave!

The property is a second floor apartment in a building located in the village of Gunterstal. It is about 2km from Freiburg centre by tram (15mins) or a lovely woodland walk (30mins). The appartment is very well-equipped and is much nicer than it looks in the photos. The host (Beata) is very friendly and kind and gave us lots of advice about places to go and how to get around by public transport. We did lots of great walks from the appartment and further afield using the tram/buses. It is a beautiful and tranquil location and we even watched peregrine falcons from the appartment balcony

This is a spacious, well-equipped apartment located in a small town connected every 10 minutes by a tram which takes 6-8 minutes to reach the old city center, and takes another 5 minutes get to the main railway station. The city can also be reached by a pleasant 25 min. walk. The host was very helpful.

This is an attractive and well-equipped apartment with plenty of space for 4 people. Beate is a particularly friendly, helpful and welcoming host. The location is brilliant: frequent trams head north from a stop right outside the house and take you through fields and into Freiburg in just a few minutes. Going south, you come immediately into Günterstal village and then a short bus or car ride up the valley brings you to a cable car station. From there you can ride up to Schauinsland, a 1,300m mountain with fantastic views and walking routes. Closer to home there are also numerous footpaths leading into the hills immediately around the apartment. In summary, this is a perfect base for enjoying both city life and the spectacular Black Forest countryside.

We appreciated the location near the Black Forest, Colmar and not to far from Strasbourg and Basil, There seems to be a small water course behind the house that we heard at night. The apartment is nicely furnished and clean.

My husband, 2 adult daughters, and I loved our stay in this spacious and beautifully kept apartment in Freiburg. It is set about 1-2 miles from the center of town and although it is steps from the tram, we chose to walk everywhere. We loved the apartment for its quiet serenity, and ate breakfast on the veranda every morning. Beate was extremely helpful with ideas for local restaurants and anything else we needed. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Freiburg.

The two bedroom apartment is perfectly situated for a visit to the lower Black Forest, the apartment is very clean and well equipped to accommodate four adults or a small family. There is a good restaurant next to the apartment but does not open Monday and Tuesday, although the tram stop outside the property sidesteps any dinning issues as the tram runs every 10 minutes into Freiburg. Beate ( The owner ) is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and will advise you on the best places to visit with or without a car. Will we return, without a doubt and would recommend to anyone as a first choice enquiry.

A beautiful two bedroom apartment on the edge of the Black Forest, very clean and well equipped. The apartment is 2km outside of Freiburg but a tram stop outside the property makes a visit into town very easy. The apartment is just right for a family of four and has all the necessary amenities. We were comfortable and content every day we were there. It lies about a 10-minute tram ride outside the city of Freiburg and was, therefore, exceedingly convenient. We lodged in the "country," and had the convenience of a wonderful German city nearby. Freiburg is absolutely wonderful -- very walkable and lovely. We enjoyed the restaurant next door to the apartment and the bakery in the town of Guenterstal. Beate Buck was extraordinarily helpful, thoughtful, and kind. We did and saw much more than we might have because of her excellent suggestions and, in many cases, because of her help. The Deutsche Bahn might have stranded us two-hours outside of Freiburg had Beate not suggested the correct things to say to the railroad officials, for example. I would absolutely recommend this rental, and am already dreaming of an opportunity to return.

My family of four (including two young boys) stayed here for a six week period in Fall 2011. Mrs. Beate Buck was exceptionally accommodating, kind, and helpful. From helping my injured wife, to washing our sheets, to quickly replacing the broken dishwasher, to accommodating my visiting parents, to recommending restaurants and things to do.... what more could one ask! The apartment is exactly as advertised, and very convenient on the tram line direct to the center of Freiburg. Located in a beautiful valley directly across from a large open green space, this is a perfect place for nature lovers. Mrs. Buck's genuine affection for children and the fantastic playground just across the street also make this a perfect location for families. Our kids were thrilled when she opened the closet doors to show them all of the toys that were waiting there for them! There isn't a whole lot to see or do in Gunterstal, but the restaurant next door was a real gem! For American visitors, the apartment is on what we would call the third floor (2nd floor in European terms), so be prepared to climb some stairs. Also note the first flight is external to the building. The only complaint we had was the lack of a clothes dryer, but for short stays this wouldn't matter. Nevertheless, we had a great time, and would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I emailed Beatrice at the last moment (3 days notice), she accommodate two adults and two small children very reasonable price. She spoke great English, and was very pleasant, with information to help us and she was very hospitable. The apartment was very spacious, and clean. It was well equipped. Parking onsite, great restaurant next door, and a great bakery across the street. 10 min. by tram into Freiburg. 40 minute drive to Triberg, 30 minutes to Titisee lake. Plenty of things to do in the area. Great place to go and enjoy the Black Forest. The apartment is a great place, wonderful backyard with a stream. Very peaceful.

Wir waren im Herbst in dieser Ferienwohnung und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sie ist komplett ausgestattet und hat eine unschlagbare Lage. Vom Haus gibt es direkt Wanderwege in die Natur und gleichzeitig eine Haltestelle, um bequem und in zehn Minuten in die Innenstadt zu kommen. ...und die Vermieterin ist sehr nett! Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert.
