Welcome to the Chestnut Cottage in Rantzau!
Enjoy your vacation in a historic holiday home / apartment in the rural tranquility of Holstein Switzerland and in close proximity to the Baltic Sea.
Our historic half-timbered house was built in 1870 and was originally the residence of four families of agricultural workers. In the meantime, we have developed it into a cozy and comfortable home for us and for peace-loving guests who want to spend their vacation in the hilly landscape of Holstein Switzerland and in peaceful rural surroundings.
Between the market towns of Plön and Lütjenburg you will find the small and sleepy village of Rantzau. It is easy to reach via a country road. It connects Plön with Lütjenburg and ends in its extension directly on the Baltic Sea. Nevertheless, Chestnut Cottage is far enough away from all major roads that you will spend your vacation in the middle of nature and in absolute silence.
The white beach of Howacht can be reached in 15 minutes, the lakes of Holstein Switzerland are practically on the doorstep and if you fancy the city, Plön, Bad Malente and Lütjenburg are each ten minutes away by car. You can reach Kiel in 30 minutes, Lübeck in 45 and in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg in about 75 minutes.
In 2013 we extensively renovated one of the two halves of the house. We have retained the charm of the old and at the same time made sure that you have all the comforts for a relaxing holiday. Visible old beams are combined with a modern kitchen, a wooden floorboard with a new bathroom, a cozy corner sofa with antiques and a box spring bed with visible half-timbering. In short, everything that makes a vacation for two, relaxing.

Die Gastgeber haben mit dieser gut ausgestatteten Wohnung ein Schmuckstück geschaffen dass zusammen mit dem liebevoll gestalteten Garten alles bietet, was man sich für gute Erholung wünscht. Zum Meer und zu einigen der vielen Seen ist es nicht weit, ausgedehnte Spaziergänge kann man direkt an der Haustür beginnen und der Nachtschlaf wird von keinerlei Lärm beeinträchtigt.
Ein empfehlenswerter Rückzugsort, an dem man sich dank der Aufmerksamkeit und Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber sofort wohlfühlt.

Wir haben die 14Tage Urlaub in dieser gemütlichen Kate bei traumhaften Wetter sehr genossen. Die Vermieter haben sich bei der Einrichtung
sehr große Mühe gegeben, es fehlt an nichts.Ein Ort der Gemütlichkeit ,ganz besonders auch der Garten.
Unter hohen,Schatten spendenden Bäumen genossen wir die lauen Sommerabende .
Nochmal vielen Dank den Vermietern, auch,dass sie ihr Häuschen mit Urlaubern teilen.

Das Cottage ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist optimal, abseits der Touristenansammlung, von dort sind sowohl die Badeorte sowie schöne Städte gut erreichbar, die Holsteinische Schweiz liegt direkt vor der Tür.
Wir wurden ausgesprochen freundlich empfangen, mit Begrüßungssekt und netten Worten, natürlich mit gebotenem Coronaabstand. Man merkt, dass sich die Vermieter Gedanken gemacht haben, bei der Ausstattung und dem Komfort.

Unser Wochenende war zu kurz, um die Wohltat dieser liebevoll gestalteten Wochnung mit dem einladenden Garten, der umliegenden Natur und den fürsorglichen Gastgebern voll auszkosten. Wir kommen wieder.
