About this apartment rental
Surroundings: The Balagne in the northwest of the island is also called the Garden of Corsica because of its fertile soil. Citrus plantations line up here and the best Vermentinu grapes of the island grow on the gentle hills. The beautiful beaches of Calvi, Algajola or L'île-Rousse make the Balagne one of the most popular holiday regions on the island. In the south, the gentle hilly landscape extends to the wild Monte Cinto massif, at 2706 m the highest mountains in Corsica. In the hinterland, rivers and pools invite you to swim and hike along the river. The Balagne offers countless sports opportunities (diving, surfing, horse riding, tennis, mountain biking, hiking, hang-gliding, canyoning, climbing and much more).
Excursions: The famous GR20 hiking trail starts in the town of Calenzana at the foot of Monte Grosso (1937 m). Also worth seeing is Sant’Antonio, the oldest village in Corsica and one of the most beautiful in France, which rises like an eagle's nest on a hill and can be reached on foot from Algajola (beautiful hiking trail). Aregno has one of the most beautiful pisan chapels in Corsica. Calvi, L'île-Rousse and St. Florent are worth a trip and can be reached by the famous old railway or by car. The magnificent nature of the Balagne invites you to take long walks and countless hikes through a varied landscape: the Ostriccione river delta with its wild cows and horses, the Desert des Agriates with its lonely dream beaches and the forest of Bonifatu, to name just a few examples call.
