About this house rental
Our house is located up a cove with partial lake views. There is a public boat ramp only minutes from the house by land or water if you choose to bring your own boat. While most properties on Lake Travis are at least an hour from downtown, our location is only 35 minutes from downtown Austin so you can enjoy the lake and nightlife. Great for couples and families with kids. Not suitable for events or loud groups/parties.
The space
My husband and I fell in love with Lake Travis and often come here to recuperate when the outside world gets too noisy. At our home, you'll find a haven to unwind, have a glass of wine, a stocked kitchen to prepare meals and all the sounds nature has to offer (cicadas, crickets and more wonderful noises!).
We are situated in a quiet, beautiful corner of Lake Travis called Mermaid's Cove (currently water levels do not make our home lake front), We are just a 7 minute walk (.5 miles) or a 2 minute ride by boat to Sundancer Grill (bar, restaurant etc).
There is a large grill, ample outdoor furniture (4 chairs, 2 loungers on our deck, two sitting areas on our main balcony and a living area located in the master bedroom balcony) and three parking spots for your group (1 car will fit in our covered car port, 3 cars behind that in our driveway. The extra long drive way is not a suitable place for more cars as you will need the room to turn your cars around (please do not use our neighbor's driveway). We hope you'll come stay and enjoy our home, the beautiful lake and all Austin has to offer.
Bedrooms:
Master Bedroom: 1 king size bed, 60" flat screen TV and full walk in closet
2nd Bedroom: queen size bed
3rd Bedroom: two bunk beds for a total of 4 twin size beds and a walk in closet
Living Room: two pull out queen/full sofa beds, 60" flat screen TV
*TV's equipped for Netflix or apps - no cable option at this time
Dining table will fit 8-10 people plus the kitchen bar seats another 4 people.
The living room is a spacious open floor plan that opens to the dining room and kitchen. This large space has three sets of French doors opening to the balcony over looking back yard, boat dock and of course, Lake Travis.
Backyard is a gorgeous sloping lawn of beautiful lush green grass, perfect for lawn games, lounging or a picnic and has a fire pit.
The yard is surrounded by beautiful lush green trees offering just enough privacy from neighbors. Due to current lake levels, we do not have lakefront at the moment.

The property was as described, comfortable and spacious. It had all necessary amenities. We loved the quietness of the location, and amenities were all a short drive away. The neighbourhood one drives through to reach the property had some less well kempt areas, but overall we liked our stay and it was just what we were looking for - somewhere quiet, off the beaten path yet comfortable where we could enjoy the 2024 solar eclipse.

Cute house with modern interior. The owner was very accommodating and reachable.

There is NO water at the property at all therefore, you are not able to enjoy water, the firepit with the chairs and the boat dock. Also, the smoke detector in the second bedroom went off at 6:00 am on two different occasions, waking everyone in the house.
