Excellent quite spacious villa to laze around in, tour Istria or go further afield!

Great village location, ~200m from main village road, quiet with lots of space and sea view. Local groceries (~200m and ~500m), but with easy access to the main tourist town of Rovinj (~8km) for sights, walks, meals out and several larger groceries/shops. Villa is a well designed split-level, with kitchen/living area and shower/utility at front on middle-floor level with pool/patio/hot-tub/outside dining, and bedrooms and shower at rear on upper floor (no access to lower floor at rear), all enclosed in gated ~50m x ~60m garden. David, our cheerful host, was available when needed (fuse box tripped at one point), but otherwise left us to do our own thing. Limski gorge viewpoint only a 4km walk/run away, and the town of Rovinj walkable too, both on unmetalled roads. A great base for exploring the Istria region by car, with two or three sea-side or hill-top villages/towns and sights per day for us in mornings (Motovun and Groznjan especially recommended) before pool/hot-tub in the afternoon/evening, and longer days out to Pula and Brijuni islands (take a picnic and your swimming gear for after the ~2hour tour, we wished we had!). Also had a whole-day out visiting Ljubljana (free 2hour walking tour a must do!), Lake Bled and Trieste (don't forget to buy an e-vignette to drive on Slovenia's express-ways). And we chose to spend a night away to get an early start seeing the Plitvice Lakes, taking in the Uska mountain pass (tunnel on the return), Opitija, Rijeka (specifically the Trsat village area) and Senj Castle on the way. If you wish to see the mummified bodies in the church in Vodjnan, bring trousers and clothes that cover your shoulders (we didn't get in). For parking, I'd recommend downloading the apps or having cash, as cards did not always work (and you can always top-up with the apps without going back to your car).

The villa was absolutely great, though, just a minor point, we thought that a "user guide" giving details of if and when bins were to be put out, emergency numbers etc., or a "visitor book" to leave such tips would have been helpful.
