About this apartment rental

In „Haus am Singberg“ you reside directly beneath the wine yards at the southern hillside of Ramsthal. The bright, renovated two-room apartment with its own entrance is furnished in mediterranean ambiente and possesses a spacious kitchen with two seats, a dining area in the living room, a bedroom, an en suite bathroom and a large entrance area. The location on the hillside is the reason why the apartment is particularly build into the mountain and so it stays cool in summer. In winter a wood stove provides additional comfort. On the south-east terrace with four seats, where grape-vine from the street touches the balustrade, you can have an unforgettable breakfast in the middle of rank cropped terracotta flower pots. In the evening while drinking a glass of wine you can watch the moon and listen to nightingales. Every season shows her own beauty, wild roses in front of the bedroom window in summer or red coloured forests in fall- you get really close to nature in Ramsthal.

Wine pleases the humans heart: In Ramsthal’s growing area “St. Klausen” six winegrowers and the association of winegrowers of Franconia cultivate high qualitiy wine. In the past years supraregional-known honours were given to the local winegrowers , some of Ramsthal’s vine-growing estates are mentioned in famous wine guides. Since the year 1122 there’s winegrowing here in Ramsthal. On about 50 hectares the sorts Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus and Kerner are grown, also red wines as Schwarzriesling or Domina grow on the millions of years old shell limestone. In both of the two inns, in the seasonal wine rooms or at winetastings you will experience the world of tastes of Ramsthal, what includes the tasty Franconian cuisine. The quality of Ramsthal’s food can be seen at the baker’s store, the butcher’s or the grower’s.

Culture means preparing the ground: Vineculture calenders life in Ramsthal for centuries and does not only inspire its inhabitants to organise numerous feasts. Nearly 20 clubs show a vast corporate feeling and they offer to Ramsthal’s guests theatre plays, guided tours through the wine yards, lieder recitals and a well-equipped library. Above the wine yards, following the “poetischen Waldwanderweg” (a path which is featured with German poems), you can let your thoughts and your gaze wander. 17 poems show a wide range of people’s experiences for more than 200 years. In the closer entourage you can find bright cultural offers. Bad Kissingen offers, aside to its wellness programs, the large proposal of a rich in tradition health resort, especially in the fields of classical music. In the wider entourage a vivid theatre scene provides topics of conversation. The regional museums inaugurate modern and historical perspectives. Hammelburg, Schweinfurt, Würzburg, Bamberg, Fulda and Coburg are not far away...

How beautiful nature is: The simplest and nicest way to escape your everyday’s stress is rambling. Ramsthal’s St. Klausen-Weinerlebniswege lead you on three different routes through the wine yards. Presentation boards give information about winegrowing, nature and the history of the village. Mixed forests, meadows with fruit trees, sunny hillsides, old wine yard walls or lanes are the habitat for rare and endangered animals and plants.Different sorts of plants, just as Küchenschellen, Silberdisteln, Weinbergslauch, Färberkamille and Johanniskraut, grow directly next to the paths. Butterflies like Schwalbenschwanz, Kaisermantel or Widderchen flutter through the air. The romantic Saalethal invites to rambling next to the river Saale, well-opened up rambling paths or cycle tracks can be driven as far as Rhön. And up to now we were mostly satisfied by our weather.

We SO enjoyed our stay in Ramsthal. Charlotte has done a wonderful job in making the apartment warm & inviting. I could have stayed my entire 2 weeks in this place. The village of Ramsthal was cute, reminded me of the "Beauty & the Beast" village. Very German and inviting. It was a perfect spot to do day trips to Wurzberg & surrounding cities.

My husband, 4 year old son, 8 month old daughter and I stayed in this quaint, adorable, relaxing apartment for 12 nights and loved every minute of it! There was a roll away bed and baby bed (like a pack n play, just the German longer version) and a king size bed as well as a couch. Frau Wahler was there when we needed something. The view from our own private terrace was spectacular! It was less than a 5 Minute walk to a playground, and about a 15-20 minute walk into the vineyards with breathtaking views! This was our first time not staying with family in Schweinfurt, but getting our own place. We intend to stay there again every time we visit Germany if it’s still available and if she’ll have us again! The absolute only thing that was missing, in our opinion, was a microwave and maybe some basic spices like pepper, garlic powder, etc. Frau Wahler had lots of sheets, blankets, towels and enough toilet paper and paper towels to get us through at least the first few days. The Rewe supermarket was less than a 10 minutes drive away in Euerdorf. Most mornings we got up and walked together to the bakery and butcher shop in Ramsthal, less than a 5 minute walk. Restaurant Wahler is at the foot of our hill and you could only eat dinner there by reservation because it’s so popular. Authentic German restaurant with great food!!! Frau Wahler gave us some other tips of restaurants, especially kid friendly or that had outdoor seating, but unfortunately we were so busy with friends and family that we didn’t make it to any of those. Next visit we will be sure to check them out! We also didn’t make it into Bad Kissingen, which I’ve been to before and loved! It’s such a beautiful city and also has the Kisssalis Swimmimg pool/sauna that we also didn’t get to this time. If you’re traveling with kids, be sure to visit Wildpark an den Eichen in Schweinfurt, a Park in the woods with a zoo, splash pad/kiddie pool area, lots of different playgrounds, and a beautiful walk through the woods. They offer snacks and bratwursts right by the playground (which is the only thing you pay for there... no admission fee at all!!!) and at the entrance is a restaurant that has a nice Biergarten and very delicious German food, as well. Thank you, Frau Wahler, for a wonderful get away for me and my family, truly home away from home!!! We can’t wait to come again!

Stayed here April 2011. Apartment was larger than we expected. Ms. Wahler is an exceptional host. The apartment is perfectly located, quiet, stunning views, easy access, bright and cheery - it exceeded our expectations! We can't wait to return. Easy drive to many great sight-seeing places - we visited Schweinfurt, Aschaffenburg, Wurzburg, Heidelburg, Rothenburg, Munich, Frankfurt . . . many more. Very centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Beautiful gardens created by Ms. Wahler. Loved the balcony. Nice, private, separate living quarters.
