About this house rental
The House Gelda is on the second floor of a building in a scenic stone. In fact, opening the window of the room we are facing a painting ... the Monte Amiata volcano 1738 meters s. L.M., with its slopes the river Orcia.
We are in the central area for visiting the Val d'Orcia. On foot you can reach the Romanesque Abbey of Sant'Antimo and being in the best area of production of the famous Brunello di Montalcino wine, we can arrange a tasting notes in one of the cellars.
The House Gelda, panoramic and bright consists of large double bedroom, a single ideal for two children, a bathroom with shower newly renovated, equipped kitchen-living room.
What does our area: contact with nature, the quiet, the silence ... you will be awakened by the crowing of a rooster or the chirping of birds. You can see the stars, the fireflies in June and attend the singing of nocturnal birds.
On summer evenings we often eat in the streets of the village, or enjoy the good Brunello Circolino with the locals.
For lovers of biking or hiking ... Here you can feast!
The houses of Castelnuovo were not the garden: the village itself is a garden! Gym are numerous trails to explore on foot, perhaps with someone of the place that tells you a story.
Any wall along the streets can be a coach, but also a roof terrace: Via Olmo you can see the Abbey of Sant'Antimo from Above. From "frenale" the eye can range to 180 degrees!

Comfortable apartment in a quiet picturesque area. Would be challenging for anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs or walking up steep inclines. Was fine for us on a brief stay for two nights. Lamia was very helpful and responded quickly to all communications.

This is a beautiful apartment on the edge of a small town called Castelnuovo dell’Abate. It's not in Montalcino, but a short drive to it. We stayed here because we were visiting a few wineries close by. When staying in a small Tuscan town, it's best to look for a place like this that's right on the edge. You don't want to (and sometimes can't!) drive into the old part of the towns. We were able to park along the street about 100 yards away. The walk was steeply uphill, but not long at all. The apartment itself is beautiful and spacious, very comfortable for 2-3 people. It was well laid out and provided all the amenities we needed. The bed in the main room is ok. The frame is a bit springy and the mattress a bit soft. I like a firm to medium-firm mattress with a lot of support. This one was reasonably comfortable, but not super high end like a hotel. The town itself is peaceful and quiet, but we stayed on a Friday night and there was a party happening down the street. The music was very loud between 11pm-1:30am, which was terrible. But it was probably a one-time thing. The hosts were very apologetic and promised to address the noise complaint with the perpetrators. The hosts were very good to work with.
