Situated on the north-western edge of the Uckermark, the small border town to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has become a popular holiday resort. Lychen rightly has the nickname "Märkisches Interlaken", which alludes to the town's exposed island location at the Lychener Seenkreuz and the countless bodies of water in the surrounding area. Lychen rightly bears the nickname "climatic health resort", as critics can still measure and enjoy inhaling the clean air today. Situated in the middle of this charming water- and forest-rich environment, Lychen is an ideal starting point for hiking, mushroom hunting, swimming, cycling tours and boat excursions.
