About this house rental
Enjoy our beautiful pool or gorgeous nearby beaches. Large (45 by 22) pool with bluestone patios and wisteria-covered arbor, surrounded by rhododendrons and an English garden. Pool is open Memorial Day-Labor Day.
With so much room both inside and out, our home is perfect for multi-generational families. The layout gives privacy, but also space for everyone to be together.
Built by a prominent sea captain who fought in the Revolutionary War, our home is infused with charm, character and beautiful details evoking its rich history and the sea.
Poised on 4 verdant acres. Rolling lawns, massive trees, flowering shrubs and English gardens create an ideal county setting.
The main house is decorated in an English country style with antiques and original hardwood floors. It sleeps up to 8 with 2 kings, 1 queen and 1 full bed. The Writer's Annex can sleep up to 4 more (double upstairs and queen sofa bed downstairs) and is available at additional cost.
Enjoy walking, biking or a five minute drive to Singing Beach; A scenic 15 minute drive to Crane's Beach. Walk to town.

The commuter rail runs through Manchester and North Beverly providing easy access into culturally and culinarily rich Salem and Boston- two of America's most interesting and historic cities.

Pool is shared with cousins whose 3 acres abut the Captain's estate 4 acres. Exclusive pool available for a fee.

Dana’s property is spectacular. Plenty of room for an extended family and the perfect location for Cape Ann activities. The pool and grounds were perfect for our kids with plenty to do and lots of wildlife to observe. Dana and her team are extremely responsive to any issues that may arise (we didn’t have any). Air conditioning is available for three of the bedrooms and high powered fans kept the main floor living area comfortable. We had a great vacation.

My husband and I and his siblings and spouses had a lovely time in this spacious, clean and historic home. The beds were all very comfortable, the grounds were lovely, the kitchen well supplied. Dana, the host, was an excellent communicator, answered all our questions promptly and ensured we had a great time. The house is conveniently located near the charming village Manchester-by-the-Sea, where there are great beaches and excellent dining opportunities. It is also quite near to the other Cape Ann attractions. We recommend this place highly. Thanks to Dana for making our stay memorable.

3.5 Stars. Host was welcoming and amenities were good but it’s an old house and I wish you could use the fireplace. Couches are very uncomfortable and bathrooms are small. Good location next to public transportation to both Salem and Boston.

Beautifully done home with terrific personal touches and loads of amenities. Spacious rooms, friendly and responsive hosts. Manchester is the perfect location, right in the midst of the North Shore’s favorite locales including the best lobsters and clams. We hope to return!
