About this house rental
This traditional Basque sheepfold, tastefully renovated, welcomes you on its privatized meadow of 7000 m2 with an exceptional view of the foothills of the Pyrenees. Many activities are possible from the sheepfold: walking, mountain biking, fishing, hunting ... The freestone walls, the oak frame, and its location in the heart of nature, provides you with a unique place of rest and relaxation, to recharge your batteries and discover the authentic Basque Country. Located just 1.5 km from the departmental road, the sheepfold is 5 km from the villages of Sare and Zugarramurdi. A 4x4 is recommended to access it by the stone track. The sheepfold 'Uxotegia' is a real little paradise for nature lovers!
Being connected to solar panels, self-generated electricity only connects low-power devices (pc, mobile ...). No dishwasher or washing machine therefore.

We had a very pleasant time in the shepherd’s hut. Xabi and Dominique were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. They communicated well and made the experience very easy. The hut is situated in an area of great natural beauty and the tranquility and calm was exactly what we were looking for. The house is well set up and is comfortable. The fact that the hut is made of stone meant that our dog was comfortable even on days of extreme heat. We enjoyed visiting the hut and the French Basque country is a wonderful area to explore.

C’est ce qui s’appelle une expérience de vacances! Nous étions réellement au cœur du pays Basque, dans un cadre hors du temps, au son des cloches dans la montagne. Pas facile de trouver mieux je pense! Merci aux propriétaires pour leur accueil et leur générosité!

Un magnifique séjour dans un écrin de verdure coupé du bruit et de la civilisation.
La bergerie est idéalement située pour rayonner en randonnée des deux côtés de la frontière, bien équipée pour se détendre (hamac, chaises longues, vue idyllique) et casser la croûte comme il se doit (plancha !).
Nous reviendrons !

Isolé au cœur du parc Natura 2000 on profite de la nature.
Idéalement situé à Sare, la côte, le pays Basque, l’Espagne... sont faciles d’accès.
On trouve aisément des produits du terroir à cuisiner ou bien diffère types de lieux où se restaurer avec plaisir et pour tous les budgets.
Enfin nos hôtes se sont montrés accueillants et prévenants.
