Cortal del Baille is a centuries old stone barn which has been tastefully converted to provide a very comfortable home from home for 8 people. Close to the villages of Las Illas (in France approx 1km) and La Vajol (in Spain approx 4km) and only 35 mins from the Mediterranean.
It nestles at the top of a hill from which you look out on to the Spanish border. The barn is surrounded by wilderness, woods and meadow and you can simply walk into the surrounding hills. There is a pool in the meadow behind the barn with tremendous views all around. The pool is shared with the owners. A truly wonderful place to experience nature, peace and quiet in the sun.
Cortal del Baille is extremely peaceful and private, indeed the Barn, pool area and garden are NOT overlooked by any other houses.
The original farmhouse and another barn are adjacent to Cortal del Baille and are used by the owners. Amazing star gazing beside the Cork Oaks. Good bird watching. Great walks - actually on the GR7 - cross Pyrenean Walk. Discover the artists who worked in this area - Picasso, Dufy, Dali, C. Rennie McIntosh, Malliol or pop down to the beaches in France or Spain. The sun shines here an average of 6 days out of 7 all year round.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with king size bed and bathroom across the corridor, Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds and ensuite bathroom, Bedroom 3 with 2 bunk beds and ensuite bathroom.

Well equipped large galley kitchen with Hob, oven, dishwasher, big fridge/freezer, microwave, food processor, coffee makers, toaster, kids plastic crockery and lots of great kitchen and BBQ equipment to allow you to easily create wonderful meals.

A huge living/dining room with a large wood burning stove - good for roasting garden chestnuts, 3 sofas and bench seating, large dining table with 8 chairs, TV, DVD with DVDs, ipod dock, free wifi, 2 large french doors.

Outside to the front is a large patio and gravel area with dining table and 8 chairs and a BBQ.

The garden is extensive and gently merges into the hills. Much of it lies behind the Barn, here we have a large outdoor pool with a covered decking area and a table, seating 8 under the oaks near pool. The pool is 5m x 10m and has steps at the shallow end (3 feet) and is deepest in the middle. The pool has unbelievable 360 degree views stretching for miles, and only one other house in view!

Meadow surrounds the pool area, with occasional clumps of cork oaks or evergreens, holly and chestnut. Sun loungers may be placed in full sun or under the shade of the trees or on the covered decking area by the pool.

The village of Las Illas and its hotel restaurant is only a 10 min walk down, the walk back up may take slightly longer! Driving - La Vajol is 10 min Figueres 30 mins, Roses 40 mins, Girona 1 hr and Barcelona 2 hrs, Ceret is 30 mins, Collioure 40 mins, Perpignan 1 hr drive away.

Please note there is a security deposit payable of £300 and this is fully refundable if there are no breakages and the house is left in a clean state.
