Garden Route Trail House

The location was peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by forest and greenery. The fenced garden was ideal for furry friends. The accomodation was very well equiped with all you need and more. The special touches ie homemade rusks, fresh milk, farm eggs, coffee station and wood were thoughtful and much appreciated. There was also a small dogbed with blanky as well as bowls for food and water. The white linen and towels were of very good quality and the beds very comfortable. There is also an honesty "bar" with various items ranging from wine to chocolate to pet treats incase you forgot something. All the rooms had french doors opening to a stoep on either side with gorgeous views. We could braai outside even in the rainy weather, since it is covered. There are hiking trails for the adventurous. The directions to the accomodation were clear and concise, but navigating in the dark may be difficult.

The last part of the access road is treacherous, especially with the rain we had while we were there. I would not attempt it with a small hatchback car. The off-grid part can be challenging with no sun, but a generator is on hand. We had a problem starting it initially, but the host came to help quickly. If your stay is long and you just want to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and take all you need with you, the fridge/freezer may be too small especially if you are a big crowd of adults.

So peaceful and quiet. The house is well equipped and not a single person in sight. So worth the trip to renew your soul. I loved the fact that this accomodation is pet friendly, my dog had a whale of a time.

We got lost because we arrived after dark and did not see the signs. We called the host but could not get hold of them. After sending a message explaining our situation we only received the same directions via message which was rather disappointing and guite nerve racking .

Een heel leuk off the grid huis in een mooie omgeving. Leuk ingericht. Mooi buitenterras. Erg goed verzorgd bij aankomst met allerlei leuke attenties. Vooraf goede info gekregen en ook tijdens verblijf was de eigenaar goed bereikbaar.

De weg er naar toe bevatte veel hobbels en bobbels, dat was soms wat minder voor de huurauto die we hadden.
