The "Lidi Ferraresi" beaches, also called "Lidi di Comacchio", are located on the Adriatic coast between Venice and Ravenna. The beaches are 40 km long, with fine sand and shallow water, and are particularly suitable for families with children; here you will find practically equipped bathing establishments and a variety of excursions. Cyclists among you will be spoilt for choice among various routes that will take you through pine forests, along the banks of the Pos or along the coast. The area offers many culinary specialties such as excellent bread, the famous eel of Comacchio, the many fish specialties of the Adriatic coast and excellent seasonal fruit such as apricots, strawberries and honeydew melons. The Po River and the various watercourses of the Po Delta form a labyrinth of waterways that you can navigate with motorboats or other small boats. Don't miss a visit to the thousand year old Pomposa Abbey, the ancient city of Ravenna (35 km) with its important early Christian monuments and Byzantine mosaics, the city of Ferrara (60 km) with its fully preserved medieval and Renaissance city center and above all the wonderful lagoon city of Venice (100 km), one of the most beautiful cities of all. Within a radius of 80-100 km you will also find a variety of amusement and aqua parks that will delight young and old. The dishes and ingredients of the region, as well as ancient traditions, bring to the table the famous "tortellino, piadina, tagliatelle, Parma ham, balsamic vinegar, Parmigiano Reggiano", and the famous eel from Comacchio.
