About this cabin rental
Throughout the centuries, people have journeyed to this river in search of nourishment and renewal. To the Native Americans who once roamed these hills, the river held the answers to daily life. As the only river to cut through the entire width of the Appalachian Mountains, the New River has long been prized for its fishing and recreation. While the fishing is still good here, people are finding something else in this old river these days....peace of mind. Anisidi Lodge has all the comforts.
I give my guests space but am available when needed.

We had an amazing stay and enjoyed being on the New River. We were able to spread out and play plenty of lawn games, go fishing and have a fire every night. Very centrally located to the new River State Park And about an hour plus drive to the Virginia creeper Trail.
Make sure to stop by the Draper Mercantile, Yummy food, great gifts, and they have open mic night on Thursdays.
The cabin was as described The rooms are comfortable, And the kitchen has the necessary pots and pans for cooking. However, the pool table is in rough shape and only one of the four pool sticks was usable, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time.
The sound of the birds in the morning is wonderful and relaxing The mountains sparrows are a joy to watch and they fly into their bird houses. Quiet and tranquil is a good way to describe this place We had a wonderful surprise early in the morning by a 350 pound bear (This is just an approximation since he didn’t Step on a scale ) trying to get into the trashcan He did succeed, but was shewed away by our neighbors.
The Internet is spotty, but honestly, that’s a good thing. This is a great place to come, disconnect and get in touch with nature.

Very peaceful and quiet. Condenser on deck could be moved, loud when running. Lot's of stairs to consider for older knees. All in all the property was very clean. Everything you need is provided. Wi/fi worked well. River is very accessible. Would stay again.

The Anisidi cabin was dream come true. We were a family of six and had more than enough room for everyone our kids especially loved the downstairs play room.
Views views views!! Every level of the house has a perfect view of the New river! This is a great place to unwind and slow down.
I absolutely loved all the little details of the house the decor had purpose and you can get a sense of who the owners are by what is shown throughout the home. The appreciation for the indigenous tribes who once called the new river their home is respected throughout. This was by far my favorite detail!
Cons
Wi-Fi and cable were very choppy and worked maybe 20% of the time but we weren’t that bothered we spent most of our time outside which you should too!
Buy food or anything else before you come! Closest store is a family dollar 8 mins away!
The worst thing I have to say about this cabin is we couldn’t stay longer

The house was beautiful in a beautiful setting, but the listing leads you to believe that you have a private location on the river, however this is not the case. The neighbors are right next door (within 50ft on both sides), so there was little privacy outdoors. The river access was difficult to maneuver, and the boats that are shown in the picture are not accessible by the renter (I feel like this should have been mentioned in the listing). You can see light through the floor of the master bedroom from the room downstairs so there is not much privacy inside either, and the showers are very small (28x30 inch square). The house was well appointed with activities, and overall comfortable, (the beds were super comfy!) and the front porch was a lovely place to sit and read. It would have been nice if the porch fans were in working order.
