Spend a week in a classic log home away from it all with private lake access on Spider Lake just minutes away from Traverse City. This family owned cottage provides a peaceful setting, yet you are only ten or fifteen minutes away from most of the area's popular attractions. It is located just minutes from shopping and restaurants in Traverse City and recreational activities such as swimming, water sports, or golfing.
The cottage has a private waterfront, six acres of primarily wooded property and beautiful lake views. The rental includes a private dock, 16ft aluminum rowboat and two kayaks. There is an open concept living, dining, and kitchen area. We have two bedrooms with double beds, and bathroom with shower. The property is includes plenty of outdoor seating with an outdoor fireplace and yard games for family fun. This seasonal retreat is part of our family heritage and was built by our father upon his return from WWII with local logs and fieldstone. We offer it for rent because we are not able to use it all of the time. It is very well kept and has one of the best views on the lake.
We are located within 15 minutes of downtown Traverse City. We are just down the road from the Vasa Trail, and a ten minute drive from East Grand Traverse Bay. You can enjoy the privacy of the cottage with outdoor seating areas, an outdoor fireplace, a grill, and picnic table, or you are just a short drive from restaurants and entertainment of Traverse City. It was a nice cozy place to stay. This was our second time to this listing. Very comfortable beds. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. Quiet and away from crowds, but still close enough drive to nearby Traverse City. Enjoyed all the hiking tails nearby.

Beautiful, well-appointed property. So peaceful and quiet. We did not make use of the rowboat or chiminea fire pit, but we were glad they were there. Super-clean with nary a cobweb in sight! We would love to return for a longer stay than 3 nights.

This was a cute cabin right on the lake. Beautiful view. Extremely clean. Very private and peaceful. We used the paddle boat one evening. Fun!
