About this house rental
The house is located in a small settlement on a slope on a terrace carved into the rocks - surrounded by the typical date palms. Idyllically located with a beautiful view of the fields planted with banana trees and mango trees. Through the fertile valley you drive 6 km to the capital San Sebastian. There are 2 sandy beaches, the harbor, restaurants, museums and nice shopping.
The old gomeric house traditionally built with its thick stone walls has been lovingly restored. The thick walls in the house in the summer is a pleasant climate. Bathroom and small kitchen are newly built and fully equipped.
The road to San Sebastian is the most suitable for cyclists on the whole island as the climb is moderate. Only after our house the road goes steeply up into the mountains.
Entry into hiking trails in the north of the island and the national park "Garajonay" directly from the house.
A few minutes walk there are 2 small bars with restaurant run by locals. In one bar is a very small shop (for the essentials)
In the neighborhood live mainly locals, some settled Germans. Very quiet and friendly neighborhood that knows the landlord well.
The arrival:
From the airport Tenerife South by taxi or bus to the port of Los Cristianos, from there by ferry to San Sebastian de La Gomera and then again by taxi or bus to El Atajo. The bus runs only 3 times a day. If you want to explore the island beyond, definitely a rental car is recommended. If you want a rental car, I will gladly reserve it for you at the local lender on favorable terms. Parking is in the street before the house

Set in a beautiful quiet valley, surrounded by magnificent mountain ridges, but within 15 minutes drive of the largest town on la Gomera and within 10 minutes of a supermarket.
Has a genuine traditional feel, with plenty of shade and a nice balcony. A small kitchen and bathroom, but with everything you need for an uncomplicated break away. The roads ascend quite steeply up beyond the house, but the drive to the house itself is on good quality safe roads. The walks above in the hills are wonderful.
We really enjoyed out time here, and were sorry to leave.

Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit, das Häuschen ist sehr gut ausgestattet und liegt in einem wunderschönen Tal nahe San Sebastian. Die Kommunikation mit dem Besitzer war super.
Mit kleineren mobilen Kindern muss man auf der Veranda ein wenig aufpassen, da die Treppe sehr steil ist, aber man hat dafür einen wunderbaren Blick und Sonne bis abends, für uns war das kein Problem. Das Haus ist einfach gemütlich, sehr zu empfehlen.

Lovely location with great views of the mountains. It was nice to be in a working and living community. The village bar was closed and there were no shops.We didn't know about the open metal staircase to the house so it was difficult getting the luggage and shopping in. There was very limited parking on the street. There was no kettle, so with the owners agreement we had to go and buy one.There was no fire extinguisher or fire blanket. No information about the nearest hospital, dentist, doctor or pharmacy.It was difficult finding the correct road out of San Sebastian better instructions are needed. Also we had to search out a supermarket that is underground behind the bus station. Or a Spar supermarket on the road out to La Lajo. This information should be given to clients as well.
