The surrounds of the property needed a little maintenance.

Location is good. Beds are comfy. Rooms are spaces

The check-in information was not sent to us as indicated in the previous email. .We had to contact the owner several times before we finally received the details, which made the arrival process inconvenient. One of the bathroom lights was not working. The owner mentioned they were unable to replace it as they were far away. The smoke alarms in the hallway and kitchen appeared to be broken and non-functional, which was concerning from a safety perspective. The sofa was quite worn down and had an unpleasant smell. In addition, there were not enough dinner plates available for even six people, which made meals inconvenient. This feedback is not meant to be negative. We are simply sharing it in the hope that the owners can address these issues and improve the experience for future guests

I had to change my booking twice (sadly out of my control) but I was grateful the owners accommodated this. The room was so nice and I felt safe as it had a code to lock the door. The bed was super comfy. Despite the room being at the front of the house and close to the road, the noise stopped during the night so it was really quiet. All windows and doors in the room were lockable so, as a single female traveller, I felt safe in my room.

The house is run down and needing repairs - not all windows were able to be locked. The front stairs are broken so there is white and red plastic tape across the access - on arrival this felt like a crime scene. There is a huge FOR SALE sign at the front - not very welcoming. Wasn't sure if I was in the right place. There is no-one living on site so I was a little apprehensive about who else was staying in the house. Luckily one other lady arrived so felt much better. The bathrooms had not been cleaned. Apparently the cleaner had broken her ankle. The owners leave a written message on the fridge preferring you to ring them with any issues rather than leave a negative review but I soon regretted ringing. I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest. Sad. When I politely asked if the cleaner had been that day, I was told - 'this is a shared house".
