About this house rental
Located in the village of Casalinho, near the town of Avelar, Casa do Casalinho offers all the amenities for those seeking a peaceful place surrounded by nature, for a stay with your partner, family or group. Comprising five double rooms (3 of which are en-suite), it can accommodate up to 10 people. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a living area and fireplace; reading room; barbecue with wood-burning oven and wood-burning stove; sauna (rate not included in reservation); games room; gym and outdoor pool. The bathrooms are equipped with electric towel rails and a hairdryer. Possible to place a crib when necessary. Surrounded by a large garden with lawn and an area of fenced oak and stone pine, you can enjoy the outdoors using the various facilities available, such as tables, a gas barbecue and lounge chairs. With private parking inside the property. Pets are allowed.
The prices shown are for two people per room.

In the region, you can go hiking, cycling – we have bicycles for free use – climbing, caving, or visiting the many river beaches in the surrounding area. The historical and religious heritage is also rich and diverse, and the area is home to abundant traces of Roman rule. Located 40 km from the city of Coimbra, 45 km from the city of Tomar, and 30 km from Pombal, its location is ideal for those seeking tranquility while still being close to a variety of tourist attractions, such as several schist villages, the Serra da Lousã and the Zêzere River, and even Figueira da Foz beach. The owners and host were wonderful and the house delightful. The one bedroom should be listed as a double, not queen-sized bed.

Ok so, we’re a family who holiday a fair amount, We also happen to own our own rental properties, including one in Portugal, We’re relatively relaxed in our outlook to things and when staying in other rentals don’t tend to be too judgemental when it comes to the aesthetics, We’re more about the experiences you have whilst being there. That being said…
We we’re not aware that on arrival, after what seemed to be a quick head count, that that most of the bedrooms were being locked, my assumption when booking the house was that we have booked the ‘Whole’ house?? When I inquired as to what they were being shut off and locked for - I was told that we needed to pay extra to have them unlocked! Huh? You may ask … why do they need the extra bedrooms? We’re only a family of 4 …. Why not? The whole house is the whole house right? It was more than that though, the bedrooms that were being locked had the best access to the outside patio and games area, the top bedroom has the best views over the countryside? Anyway… we paid to have the bottom opened and it took away from the experience of checking into a new place after a long days travelling. Things like the pool pump not working, door handles being lose, the shower pressure , broken bicycles and ridiculously expensive saunas took away from the experience a bit.
Overall though…. , it’s definitely worth the say, we had a good time the kids loved exploring the garden and playing in the games room. Other than a few minor improvements, I think the hosts are on the right track, a 7 out of 10 from us. With a little TLC it’s a good 8 👍

Passamos um Natal muito feliz com toda a família nesta casa. A casa muito acolhadora com cozinha bem equipada, lareira excelente, boas camas e ótima limpeza.
Recomendamos para grandes famílias ou grupos de amigos.
