About this house rental
The Yellow House sits on an expanse of private land, surrounded by trees and an air of calm. Except for the occasional visit by deer, you can stay here in total seclusion, yet it's only a ten-minute walk to the Gumboot Cafe and other services if the mood takes you. A ten-minute walk in the other direction gives you beach access. There's a hot tub, a wood burner, cozy nooks and comfy places to read, write, or do nothing. It's a haven for creative thinking - you'll find there's something about this place that brings on the ideas. And if you love reading, stretch out on a sofa or garden chair, and enjoy a book from The Little Library of The Yellow House. If you're not really into writing, reading or doing nothing, don't worry, you'll be cured during your stay.
There are two double bedrooms with queen beds. The other room is set up as a writing room/study. It does have a sofa that turns into a futon bed to sleep one child or young adult, and a walk-in closet with a place to hang clothes. The house sleeps 4 adults max. I don't take big groups.
Fancy being a writer in residence? Just request a letter of approval from me and use it in your grant application to the Canada Council or BC Arts Council.
