Vacation in architectural monument combines heritage conservation and tourism. Historically valuable buildings are taken over, gently renovated and rented out as holiday flats. The model provides a double benefit: the monuments are given a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is being realised by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.

Parking: The public car park is about 20m from the house (below the hamlet next to the road). The car park is free and not covered. Access directly in front of the house is not guaranteed. 

Public transport: Take the cable car from Fürgangen-Bellwald valley station to Bellwald. Luggage transport can be organised. The hamlet of Eggen is about 25 minutes' walk away.

Number of persons 4: A baby cot (up to 2 years) is available. The house offers space for four guests (plus baby). The house is entered directly into the kitchen. From the kitchen there is direct access to the beautiful and cosy dining room. Also from the kitchen is the shower/WC. A very steep staircase leads to the upper floor. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. The floors are made of stone and wood and we recommend good slippers. The hamlet of Eggen is picturesquely nestled in green meadows or snow-covered slopes. There are various places around the house where you can linger.

Garden: There is a small garden seating area next to the kitchen.

The Huberhaus is a listed building that has been renovated with great respect for the existing fabric. The tenant is aware of this and treats the property with care. Although the technical equipment is up-to-date, certain functional details do not meet current standards and are a potential source of danger. The tenant is aware of these circumstances.
