Madre Selva Hostel

Amazing people that volounteer there. The location is also amazing and the rooms are pretty spacious and cosy

Loved our stay at Madre Selva - we even extended for a night! Was so peaceful staying in the jungle, and nice to not be in a busy town. Kitchen had everything we needed, bedroom was comfy & the fan kept us cool.

Only downside is the property is located about 500m down a dirt road with no street lights. We made sure we were back before dark each night/caught an uber back as it was pitch black to walk along. Not a problem for us though, but something to keep in mind :)

Great place to stay! Away from the crowd and noise. Still close to supermarkets and so. Surounded by beautiful jungle and wildlife. Lots of birds/monkeys/ sloths/... to see/hear.. :-) Very well equiped kitchen and places to relax/read. Owners are profesional and relaxed. Cheerio.

Very friendly staff! It's located near Playa Cocles, 10 min walking, and it's easy to explore other beaches in the surrounding area if you rent a bike (which can be provided/facilitated by the staff)

Very expensive for what is offered. We paid 45 dollars per night in a private room with a shared bathroom. There was no water between 2 PM and 7 AM, apparently due to an external problem in water supply, but we were only informed by that after completing the check-in. The kitchen is available for usage in a very limited time, you cannot use it after 9 PM. When there is water, you cannot expect to have a hot shower. There is no ammenities provided (e.g. soap), the laundry was not available during our stay. Do not recommend.
