Experience the best of the Blue Ridge Mountains from ‘Stargazer Lodge,’ 4-bed, 3-bath Fairview vacation rental nestled on 45 private acres at 2860 ft. elevation. Marked by creeks, cliffs and hiking trails, and built in 1949, this historic hunting lodge has been modernized with high-end finishes that maintain its timeless character. Enjoy an outdoor living space and suspended patio, along with proximity to downtown Asheville, the splendors of Lake Lure and the wonders of Pisgah National Forest!

Fully renovated in 2011, Stargazer Lodge is a historic home that features a charming blend of native stonework, exotic Kurapayra floors, modern stainless steel appliances, seamless countertops and carrara marble tiling. With 2,700 square feet of living space and 45 south-facing acres to explore, this lovely lodge hosts 12 for an epic Blue Ridge escape.
Make yourself at home in the great room, highlighted by a stone accent wall and Scandinavian-style furnishings. Stream a show on the flat-screen Smart TV or sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning mountain views showcased by the wall of picture windows.
With a plethora of outdoor amenities just beyond your back door, you won’t be able to resist spending time outside! The covered flagstone patio offers a gas grill and multiple dining areas. ‘Stargazer Lodge’ is the perfect setting for business travelers, family get togethers, yoga retreats and weddings, or just a quiet escape with immediate loved ones!
For an afternoon well spent, take a hike around the property, where you’re sure to encounter springs, creeks, cliffs, woodlands and a plethora of wildlife. When you’re in need of some downtime, retreat to one of the hanging swings found on the suspended patio in the tree canopy overlooking the Pisgah National Forest.
Fix up dinner in the fully equipped kitchen, and for dessert, roast s’mores around the fire pit. Come nighttime, everyone in your crew is ensured a good night’s sleep in one of 4 private bedrooms, each containing either a queen or king-sized bed.

We loved our stay at the Stargazer Lodge! The view is so gorgeous and the house is beautiful on the inside. With the 5 bedrooms we had plenty of space for 8 people. One thing to note about the Master Studio is that it is detached from the house and it does not have a bathroom. Not a big deal if you want to leave the bedroom door unlocked that it is right across from the Master Studio (the one with the washer and dryer), but we weren’t comfortable with leaving it unlocked. If you have to get up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom, you either have to knock on the locked door to get into the bedroom with the bathroom (we could not locate a key), or go around to the front door and use the code to get into the house. It would have been a waste to not use the Master Studio for that reason because it is a great bedroom with lots of privacy, big closets, king bed and a desk which is super handy for doing hair, makeup, etc... mirror provided.
The fireplace is double sided so you can enjoy from the dining room, living room and den. We cooked in the kitchen and used the grill outside and had everything we needed. Also really loved the fire pit!
Did I mention the view?? We took our Christmas card pictures in the backyard and the backdrop was unbelievable!

This was a great place for a girls' weekend. We truly enjoyed staying here, exploring the grounds and the Asheville area. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels. Lots of seating areas. Kitchen was well appointed and FINALLY a home rental that has the basics, salt, plastic wrap, pepper, olive oil, coffee filters. It's really a pain (and wasteful) to have to purchase these items each time you rent a home. Overall a great stay and I would definitely go back!
