Decor of the apartment was lovely and we really enjoyed the spacious balcony. The location was good, close to Baishamen Park, the sea and a local night food market. Host was very helpful and had good English. She personally took us to register at the police station the morning after we arrived (foreign guests are required to register at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival. Most hotels and hostels will do this on your behalf, but as this is a self-catered apartment, we had to visit the police station ourselves. This would have been very difficult without our host.
The only negative is that we were the first foreign guests and they haven’t set up a foreign payment system and they wanted us to pay using WeChat. We were lucky to be able to pay via our son who lives in Haikou.
