About this cabin rental

This property is a semi rustic cabin that has some modern conveniences. Running water, Electricity and gas services are all available at this location. The open floor plan includes a large living area on the first floor complete with pull out couches for additional sleeping area. The vaulted loft area offers comfortable sleeping for four including a single bed, a double bed bunk with full size beds on both the top and bottom bunk, and a queen size bed. The basement offers a full kitchen with a microwave, toaster, refrigerator, gas stove and utensils. A full bath completes the basement area with gravity fed water from a local spring.
The cabin sits on a 4 acre location that includes a 2 acre pond, a permanent gas grill with a new shelter, a 40 foot long picnic table, and a sheltered serving table.
Nearby Public hunting and fishing locations include Powelson Wildlife Area, Tri-Valley Wildlife Area, Simco Wildlife Area, Dillon State Park, Woodbury Wildlife Area and the Muskingum River.
Local attractions include the Zane Grey Museum, John and Annie Glenn Museum, Roscoe Village, and The Wilds are just a few places within a 20 minute drive.

Needed a place to stay with our dogs while in town for Christmas. Plenty room for them to run. Light switches took a minute to figure out. Overall it is a decent place to stay if you're not picky and understand you are in older place on a farm, without wifi or cable. It was not mentioned in the details, however it gives you time to get off the electronics and have a conversation or be outside. .

We absolutely had the best time. This is the most relaxed I've been in a long time! The pond provided endless hours of entertainment and was so warm. The cabin was very functional and comfy. The scenery was outstanding! We loved the remote, private setting. Everything was just perfect.

I was looking for a place my husband and I could recharge our batteries and a place for my dog to play off leash. This property was perfect. The kitchen, bathroom and sleeping loft were clean. There were a few bugs in the corners but it didn’t bother us. And as the owner stated it’s a cabin in the woods. The cell service was spotty.Which I didn’t mind one bit. The main level has several comfortable couches and the one recliner was absolute heaven to look out the picture window. Upper level has the beds. The one we slept in was comfy. Lower lever is the kitchen and bath. Spiral staircase connects the levels. The cabin is so unique and lovely. The light switches took a minute to figure out but it wasn’t rocket science. The gas heater was extremely efficient and kept the cabin toasty. The deck on the large pond was a really nice feature. I would absolutely stay here again.

Hot/cold water in shower was dicey, transformer went out the last night and we had to leave, (never received refund for the night, tried to contact owner through messages and didn't hear back.) Lighing in cabin was a bit confusing and no locks on doors. Outside was awesome, but we were a little disappointed with the cabin. All in all not bad but cost more than other similar cabins we have stayed in. We weren't expecting luxury by no means, but some things should be a given. This trip was over 6 months ago, so there is a possibility that things have been improved. BTW, the people we met were very nice.

We were looking for a property that was secluded and pet friendly and it was exactly as advertised. This property was ADORABLE and clean. Will definitely be considering it in the future. Hopefully with warmer weather as well to be able to enjoy the pond too. You won't regret staying here.

This cabin has a beautiful stocked pond for fishing and relaxing on the dock. I enjoyed waking throughout the fields and woods around the farm. The cabin is clean and has everything you need. I really enjoy staying here. I would recommend this to any singles, couples or families, looking to get away and re-energize.

Very quiet and peaceful. The fishing was fun. There was plenty exploring and hiking. Our dog had a blast wading on the waters edge and going exploring with us. The lights in the cabin are a little quirky but the spring water was fabulous I didn't have a bad hair day the whole time we were there.

The cottage is beautiful! The spiked family was very friendly and treated us like family! The fishing was fun and relaxing! It was perfect! Our dogs had a blast too!! It truly was an amazing trip! We will be doing this again as soon as possible!!

The place is gorgeous, beautiful scenery, seclusion, quiet and quaint! A small cabin with just the right amount of ammenities! The pond was fun, boats and fishing poles included which was great! The only drawback was the front door and sliding door did not lock.

Just a simple overnight stay turned out to be very relaxing! The cabin was perfect, great location, loved the view, and hope to be back in the summertime. Once we figured out where all of the light switches were at, we felt right at home!

Our stay was so peaceful and relaxing. My husband, our two dogs and I stayed for five days and loved every second of it. The wood work of the cabin is gorgeous, the beds are comfortable and very clean and the leather couches on the main floor provided a comfy landing pad at the end of the day where we watched movies on the DVD player and tv provided. The kitchen has all of the equipment and tools needed to cook a meal. The bathroom was clean and the shower had excellent water pressure and nice hot water. The natural gas grill outside was a huge plus too! We really enjoyed the campfire and were pleased to find that the bugs outside were relatively non-existent due to the bat box on the side of the cabin, the bats took care of the bugs for us! Our stay was quiet, peaceful and we plan on returning time and time again. The owners of the cabin and property are wonderful, friendly people who were truly a pleasure to meet. There is no wifi and no cell service at the cabin which made our stay even better. We can not express what an amazing time we had at this cabin and we recommend it to anyone; couples, families or even for a girl's or boys trip. Thank you Spiker Family for this Jem!

It was amazing! We had so much fun! Every corner you turned you just had to admire about the place. The only thing I got confused about was that you had you had to drive down the cornfield path to get to it. Other than that it was perfect!
