Casa Luar was a superb location for our family holiday away from it all. Nestled in the foothills of the Serra de Monchique, it is far away from the bustle of the Algarve seaside, yet close enough to get there for an afternoon's bathing. The property is light and spacious and very well equipped, with verandas and covered outdoor dining.

In our search for a nice and comfortable place to stay in the Algarve, we found this gem. No Ikea furnishing, but a lived-in interior, equipped with everything you need during a holiday. The place itself is more or less remote, away from all the tourism, the real Portugal.... You need a car for shopping and excursions, you return to an oasis of peace and nature, exactly what we were looking for. The communication with the host is sublime, one is very helpful and responds quickly, really nice. We really want to go back!

We liked the house and the location, although in the countryside it is quite central and all major Algarve sightseeing spots and beaches are easily accessible. A car is essential. You might need extra fans if the weather is too hot.
