The amenities were clean on arrival

Unfortunately the house smelt terribly of cigarettes. We had a terrible night the first night with the smell. After opening the house for the whole second day, we were able to sleep ok on the second night.

Central location, comfortable beds, nicely furnished including a giant TV.

No tea towels provided and wheelie bins were full meaning we had to dispose of rubbish elsewhere.

The yard was really excellent for dogs (secure for little dogs which was great). Laundry powder was provided and the fireplace was usable. Everything you needed was provided ie tea, coffee, oil, salt abs pepper. Great cooking facilities and utensils. Really easy check in and out. Instructions were clear. Close to town and lots of local attractions. Lots of on-site parking which is helpful for 2 cars.

good location close to town, very clean on arrival. good kitchen, very pet friendly with fenced yard. The hot water failed, but was fixed by Brayden and the plumber who were both friendly and helpful. Lounge furniture and TV were a welcome addition to the house.

while the cottage is in a lovely location, it clearly is a summer cottage. The electric heating was inadequate to heat the house. There was a fireplace that we used that was satisfactory and kept the house warm despite our concern about green house emissions. In winter the fire needs to be prepared for guests on arrival with kindling and newspaper so that it is all ready to go for guests on arrival. Although there were electric heaters there there were no manuals to tell you how to operate them. The main bedroom was well furnished. I think the bed needs replacing and/or electric blankets should be provided for a winter stay. I think the compendium needs to be updated with relevant informaton, particularly about restaurants including relevant menus and information about the Gippsland Lakes and relevant tours etc, as well as points of interest and restaurants in Bairnsdale
