This is truly a seafood lover’s dream. We have spent so much time and effort making Sunset Lagoon a unique place to live our lives, we decided to make it available for others to enjoy as well. Dale and Carol are excellent host. They respoded to all my questions right away. They are very kind and made sure we have everything we needed.They take pride of their beautiful property. Its very clean and very comfortable. The host lives upstairs and the rental is downstairs which has its own entrance and lovely patio. They have everything you need to harvest shellfish,( oysters, clams and mussels), which we took advantage of. Yummy!! They also have kayaks, which unfortunately we didnt get to use because of the weather.The property is on a small island, Herron Island. You have to take a small ferry and they only take cash (it will help if you have exact change). Theres no store on the island so make sure you bring what you need. We had a very relaxing 3 nights. We had the best time at Sunset Lagoon! Carole and Dale were such great hosts and ensured our stay was enjoyable. There happened to be an issue with the ferry the day we were going and they called right away. The problem ended up getting fixed and we made it to the island! Definitely a much needed respite. My family and I plan to go back this summer. My kids absolutely loved clamming on the private beach!
