The Village Bunaken Dive Resort

Very friendly staff and helpful staff and owner. Cheerful Keren at dining service makes every meal especially pleasant. The place is idyllic and well organised. Food was good. Possibilities to arrange for extra activities are the strong points i.e., snorkeling, boat trip, etc.

It's clearly aimed for international travellers and not for locals. No bidet in the bathroom and pricing is clearly aimed for foreign tourists. Place is in the nature so some animals are expected, but I had a cockroach on my bed which was quite shocking. The rooms also only have fans, which makes falling asleep quite hard, but otherwise it's a pleasant stay.

Love the rustic charm of the property and Balinese vibe of the chalets . The food were home cooked and well balanced with both western and eastern fare - although it'll be nice to have more Bunekan/Mandano fare included .

We had a wonderful four-night stay here. Fu and David looked after guests so well, and all the staff were very friendly. The food was great — something different every day, always plenty to eat, and nutritious. The villa was lovely, clean and comfortable. Don’t really need AC in the evening, fan is good. Reef at the front is AMAZING!! We also went diving with Nick and had a great experience. Recommend!!!

Reaching this resort was a bit tricky and conditions to reach it should be in the write up before one makes the reservation. The transfer to/from the resort to the airport or Manada is fine but has time restrictions because there is a boat transfer which does not occur when dark. One needs to be aware of this when making flight arrangements. Also, the lack of a pier makes the boat transfer not possible due to the daily low tide. Another problem, for which the resort is not responsible for is that flights to Manada are subject to cancellation or delay, which makes the transfer difficult. Because of these issues, our stay was cut short by a day and a half.
