Hostal Rugaca

A lovely old building. Fantastic receptionist. Central location. I loved the compact, efficient and well designed private room with a small balcony. The walk up stairs take me back to a grander age.

The convenience of central location comes with two drawbacks. 1. The town center is a large area in which cars are not allowed. I support central areas that prohibit cars, but it does make accessing the hostel difficult if you drive to Huesca. That also means parking near the car-free zone can be difficult to find. Plan on walking a half mile or more to the hostel. 2. The town center this time of year is a party scene - great food and bars all have large outdoor seating areas. No problem finding dinner and a drink. But, all those people eating and drinking and just hanging out is noisy! As the night progresses alcohol causes voices to rise. I went to bed at midnight and the party was in full swing right under my second floor room. Ask if they have a room away from the street.

Hostal Rugaca had everything needed for one to prepare one's own breakfast and heat other meals. We appreciated this.

That the service lift was out of order and that suitcases had to be dragged up and down the stairs.

Very central, warm, good insolation from street noise. Nice staff and kitchen you can use.

The bathtub was a bit run down

The room aircon was poor and barely had any effect. And the TV was so small…
