The Arenal Volcano National Park is 35 km from Nuevo Arenal and near the town of La Fortuna with hot springs and geysers.
The best restaurants in Costa Rica are in the immediate vicinity: the Gingerbread Fine Restaurant and the Las Tinajas Restaurant. But also pizzas and Italian dishes at Los Platillos Voladores, delicious German delicacies at the German Bakery Tom’s Pan and at Moya's Place you will find a nice selection of pizzas, wraps and other dishes. The so-called 'sodas' have affordable dishes such as Gallo Pinto (rice with beans), casado (rice, beans combined with meat, chicken or fish), arroz con pollo (rice with chicken). It was a very nice property, old fashioned charm with modern updates: lots of electrical outlets, the best makeup mirror ever. Nice TV and WiFi. The host was very welcoming.

We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful stay in this comfortable house. It had a comfortable bed, good shower, and very adequate kitchen. Rudy and Petra were excellent hosts. The wash machine was the very best so far on our long journey. The house was just a very short distance to shops and restaurants. We would recommend this house to others wanting to stay in this beautiful area.
