About this cottage rental
The charming Country Resort Cortijo Balzaín is situated in the Sierra Nevada National Park (Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO), in the heart of the mountains and at just 8 km from Granada city, 30 km. to the ski resort and 45 km. to the beaches of the Costa Tropical.
The farm is dedicated to the cultivation of almond trees and is surrounded by mountains and lovely trails that invites to walk, while you contemplate splendid views of the city of Alhambra and the summits of Sierra Nevada.
The resort consists on 9 Country Cottages for 4/6 and 6/8 pp. and a Farmhouse for 19/31 pp. on self-catering, a Country Restaurant with WiFi zone, a salted water pool, a children's play area with a small farm, a sports court and an old farm museum.
This Cortijo from XVII century, has been restored acting with the greatest respect to the rustic elements of its former structure, enhancing the character and beauty of these houses.
The cottages are very cozy and comfortable and their names evoke its former uses: the stable, the corral, the barn, the shed... In its interior emphasize elements of wood and stone from its original structure retained throughout the rustic and authentic flavor of its past, in a rural setting full of charm, peace and tranquility.
The accommodations are equipped with a high level of comfort for an unforgettable vacation, enjoying all that Granada and Sierra Nevada offer: the mountains and the sea, sports and adventure, culture and gastronomy.
Pepe and Patri, the farmworkers, are very friendly and offer breakfast and home-cooked meals at affordable prices in a warm and family atmosphere. They will give you all the information and attention to everything you could need.
Very close to Balzain (2 km.), you have everything you need for your shoppings and needs: banks, supermarkets, restaurants, shops, medical service 24 hours, and so on.
This resort has the award for “Best Rural Tourism Initiative 2000” by its example of rehabilitation and restoration of architectural heritage and its clear commitment to rural tourism quality under the criteria of sustainability and environmental preservation.

Estuvimos en familia, con tres niños, en la segunda semana de septiembre y todo fenomenal.
El emplazamiento en la falda de Sierra Nevada y a 10 minutos de Granada, es excepcional por lo que puedes descansar plenamente y disfrutar de la naturaleza (haciendo senderismo, pasear, ver paisajes, etc) y a la vez puedes estar en la capital y disfrutar de la maravillosa Alhambra al mismo tiempo sin ningún tipo de inconveniente. a 2 minutos tenemos el pueblo de La Zubia donde se dispone de cualquier servicio.
La casas, teniendo en cuenta que son casas de pueblo adaptadas al entorno, disponen de las comodidades necesarias, no esperemos un hotel de de Rusticae ni un hotel de 4 estrellas, aunque la sencillez del cortijo no descarta su comodidad y tranquilidad, también cabe destacar también su piscina.
Por último y lo más importante es el trato recibido por Patri, el ama de llaves del cortijo y que hace de todo allí, hay que destacar su simpatía y su disposición a ayudarte en cualquier cosa, la comida sin grandes lujos, simplemente deliciosa. Sin ella el Cortijo no sería lo mismo. Gracias por todo Patri.
