Don't hesitate and book this

The location was outstanding. Close to town yet a slice of wilderness. John was an outstanding host. The room and wider premises were fantastic. A glass of wine beside the fire pit watching a beaver in a pond is an experience not to be missed.

Our stay at the Cowichan River Lodge was absolutely perfect! Over looking a beautiful pond and the Cowichan River beyond. Our breakfast each morning was delicious! The location is close to Cowichan Lake and wineries. We were met by J9hn upon arrival, who gave us an overview of his property, as well as recommended hiking spots and winery. Thank you again for such a lovely stay! My husband and I and our little dog will definitely be back!

Incredible cosy lodge in beautiful surroundings

Incredible lodge in the most beautiful surroundings. Accessible from Victoria in under two hours by car. We were the only guests and stayed for three nights. Loved every minute! John is the perfect host, giving all the information you need/wish for in a very decent and pleasant way.

Everything was perfect. Note: be mindful that restaurants in the area close early (around eight, sometimes nine), so do not arrive hungry in the evening. There are a good couple of choices in the area around (accessible by car). Otherwise just follow John's recommendations and you will be more than fine :)

Fantastic find

Stayed two nights and would have loved to stay longer if we’d had the time. Great location and very comfortable accommodation. Breakfast was fantastic. John gave us some great tips on where to hike and where to eat dinner as well as sharing local history with us. Many thanks for making our stay so memorable.

A fantastic retreat to recharge in nature.

The lodge is so spacious with generous rooms and fine design. Our host was brilliant and welcoming- always on hand without being intrusive. The river is so close and beautiful. Just plant yourself midstream in a chair… paradise. Breakfasts were delicious.

Wonderful experience

Lovely property. Great short trail, next to the river. Enjoyed the sitting areas esp in front of the beaver pond. Exciting fighting if a cougar and an otter. Great host provided advice of the area. Substantial breakfast, perfect fried egg.

Cowichan River Lodge was a true highlight of a month-long cycling tour around BC

Beautiful log lodge, incredibly well appointed and furnished, in an amazing serene location, with beautiful views, on the pristine Cowichan River, less than a minute's walk through the forest. Tranquility, privacy, luxury. John was extremely thoughtful in preparing our breakfast as a picnic because we had a very early start. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent place to stay

We had an amazing stay in this beautiful place. The hosts were very nice and helpful with lots of good suggestions. The breakfast was awesome. There are lots of good bike routes around to enjoy. I would definitely go back again.

Amazing hospitality, peaceful and beautiful location. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay. John and Danielle’s hospitality was second to none - from the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The property itself was beautiful and so tranquil, right on the Cowichan River with a nice little riverside seating area. The lodge is beautifully decorated, and the high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows make it feel so spacious. Our room was perfect. Breakfast was restaurant-quality good. Everything we needed was provided to us. John was so helpful with suggestions on walking trails and where to eat. We can’t wait to come back!!
