“Al Mare Selective Accommodation” consists of 4 separate villas; “Villa al Mare”, “Sole al Mare”, “Aria al Mare” and “Perla al Mare”.
"Villa al Mare" is a Villa built in front of the sandy beach of Adelianos Kampos, combining modern textures, in perfect harmony with the surroundings.
For your sweet dreams, we have for you “Coco-mat” mattresses and pillows. When you wake up, you just have to press a button to watch the light of the dawn, as all the window shutters are electric.
Layout of the house:
The 220sqm house consists of 3 floors and an attic.
On the ground floor, you'll find a spacious living room and dining area, a WC, and the kitchen. The kitchen offers convenient access to both the dining area and the large veranda overlooking the swimming pool.
The master bedroom has a double bed and beautiful direct view to the beach from the window or from the balcony of common use where it has access too. The second bedroom on that floor consists of two separate beds, and has panoramic view to the area but also to the beach. Both rooms have private bathrooms and can accommodate 2 persons each.
The first floor features two bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom.
The master bedroom includes a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with bathtub. That bedroom offers stunning direct views of the beach, either from its window or the shared balcony, which it also has access to. The second bedroom on that floor is furnished with two separate beds, an en-suite bathroom with shower and view of both the surrounding area and the beach. Both rooms comfortably accommodate two guests each.
The third room is on the attic, with private bathroom with shower and panoramic view to the beach and the surroundings, until Rethymnon Fortezza, with a spacious verandah and can accommodate 2 people.
The third bedroom is located in the attic and features a private bathroom, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the beach and the surrounding area, extending all the way to Rethymnon Fortezza. It also includes a spacious veranda and comfortably accommodates two guests.
Finally, the lower floor features two additional rooms that share a bathroom with a bathtub. That floor can accommodate 4 people.
Two of the rooms are furnished with a double bed, while in all other rooms there are single beds, where the guests can request double beds to be made if preferred.
Additionally, every room is equipped with its own smart TV for added convenience.
In front of the verandah is the swimming pool with sunbeds and sunshades, which is a breath away from the sandy beach and the beautiful sea.
Just in front of the veranda, you'll find the swimming pool with sunbeds and umbrellas. It’s only a few steps away from the sandy beach and the sea, offering the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment.
Pool & Heating Policy:
- The pool remains full until November and can be heated from March to May and in October and November when the outdoor temperature drops below 25°C.
- The water temperature can reach up to 28°C, depending on the outdoor conditions. Prior notice is required for pool heating.
- An additional charge of €40 per day applies for heating the pool, payable on-site in cash. This service must be requested at least one week before arrival.

This beautiful house over 4 floors offers spacious modern accommodation. Large garden is private and has access to the beach. The property is situated down a long driveway so the main road is inaudible from the house. The location and its facilities along with its proximity to tavernas and supermarkets makes this our ideal family holiday. The hotel next door has recently (2025) changed to an adult only wellness/luxury retreat, there is very little to no disturbance from the neighbouring property. This is our 3rd stay at the house, we love it here. The manager is super friendly and helpful.

Beautiful modern property set over 4 floors. Well equipped. The beach front location was superb. Although there are adjoing properties, we didnt feel overlooked. The pool and gardens were immaculately kept. The cleaning team were very thorough and the manager was available on Whats App for any queries. The resort area has a good selection of tavernas and a couple of beach bars. The bakery is 30m from the entrance to the property and well worth a daily walk for fresh croissants and pastries. Whilst not a 'picturesque' area, there are plenty of shops, hire car and excursion companies. There was a small selection of water sports but these didnt domiate the beach. There was plenty of space on the beach, mostly couples and a few young families. The beach is a mix of shale and sand.
The sea was a bit sore on barefeet as there is a large rocky area to be navigated. There was a lifeguard on duty. The villa has its own private sun loungers on the beach, accessed directly from the villa garden.
The main road was busy but not overly so. The old town is a short drive away (car parking is outside of the pedestrianised old town, it was busy with traffic on the outskirts on the sunday we visited, and one large car park is closed on Thursdays due to the flea market). The old town is pretty, with a scattering of boutique hotels, gelato shops, coffee shops, and tourist gift shops, tavernas etc.
Overall a lovely relaxing holiday.

We had an idyllic stay at Villa al Mare. Exactly as listed. Maria-Virginia was very helpful and friendly from booking until we left going above and beyond what we would normally expect from a holiday let. The villa is situated in a small resort but within 15mins (taxi) or 30 mins (bus) of Rethymno city and within an hours drive of ancient sites, beautiful beaches and pretty villages, lakes and canyons.

Villa El Mare is a gem of a property. It is such a well designed villa - not only making the most of the stunning position but also creating a space that is full of light. The owner makes the whole experience superb - Maria is always on hand to sort out any issues, but also both her and her family are so generous bringing over gorgeous fresh produce from their garden and baking lovely cakes! The attention to detail in the property are excellent - the beds are super comfy! Being able to move from the pool to the beach throughout the day, having all the amenities on your doorstep makes this a villa which really is the most idyllic place to spend your holiday. I cant recommend it enough!
