Welcome to St Maude, a country cottage set in 4.5 acres of gardens and woodland. Ideal for nature lovers, sit and relax and watch the buzzards and sparrow hawks circling or take a walk through the woods where you can try and spot the local wildlife. Fox and badger are regular visitors here and you may even spot deer if you're up early enough! The cottage is situated in a tranquil country setting, yet the local village is just 2 mins away and the historical market town of Rostrenen, with its excellent selection of shops and restaurants, is a short 15 minute drive. Guests have access to our heated indoor swimming pool 9m x 4m.

We had a wonderful holiday, so relaxing, peaceful and such beautiful surroundings. Graham and Dawn were absolutely lovely, very warm and welcoming. The gîte is beautiful, very clean and comfortable with everything that you could want - a real home from home. The private pool is fantastic and the garden a perfect place to sit and relax with a glass of wine in the evening. One of the best gîtes we have ever stayed in, we wished we could have stayed longer than a week! Many thanks for making our first trip back to France since the pandemic a real treat.

Had a great 2 weeks stay . Gite is lovely, really clean, homely, spacious, well equipped with everything you need. The pool was fab too and we used it daily . We spent 5 days at Roger and Dawn's holiday gite. We loved it. Our children enjoyed the indoor pool and the trampoline and just the sense of freedom which comes from having plenty of room to play outside. The gite is in a quiet, rural location and has everything you'd need. It makes a great base for exploring the coast and the interior. It's perfect too for resting and relaxing. Graham and Dawn are the perfect hosts.

A fantastic holiday at this beautiful gite. Everything you could need and more. Our children enjoyed every single moment in the swimming pool - which absolutely made our holiday. Graham And Dawn are exceptional hosts, extremely helpful and knowledgeable and gave us some great tips of what to do/see in the local area. Dawn thank you so much for your invite to the aqua zumba class. It was so much fun and lovely to meet the other ladies. I am already missing sitting in the beautiful garden and watching the rabbits . The location of this gite is wonderful, it is so peaceful and really enabled us to relax and recharge our batteries. Would 100% recommend this gite and we would return in a heartbeat.

We spent a very relaxing holiday at Graham and Dawn’s lovely cottage in the French country side. The cottage is quite spacious and very clean, with charming decorations, and excellently equipped for a comfortable stay. There is a barbecue outside and utensils are provided. There are toys and games for the kids, books, an outside trampoline, swing and a volleyball net. But the biggest attraction for our kids was the indoor swimming pool, which is bigger in reality than it looks in the pictures. There are many things to do and see in the area, all requiring about an hour drive. Our favorite spot was Concarneau, white sandy beach and a quaint medieval city center. Dawn and Graham are very gracious hosts, available for any questions but not at all intrusive. They provided us with an welcoming package of local products and fresh eggs from their own chickens. We warmly recommend their place and we hope to return one day.

Graham and Dawn were the perfect hosts, there whenever you wanted a chat but equally, very sensitive to your needs of privacy. Everything is very private, we had the whole garden and pool to ourselves. The gite was bigger than we had expected from the photos and was beautifully decorated and maintained. It was so peaceful and yet there was so much to explore. We didn’t travel more than an hour and a half from the gite and yet we ran out of time to explore all the wonderful places. A trip to the coast didn’t seem far while passing through beautiful little villages. The lakes nearby were perfect for a swim with lovely clear water. We would love to return and bring our bikes since there was so much to explore nearby. The Buddhist temple just 5 minutes away was amazing. We loved having our fresh pastries and baguette in the morning then heading out for the day. In the afternoon the children were straight in the pool for hours! The pool was amazing, again much bigger than in seemed in the photos. We then had our evening meal in the garden, my favourite time enjoying a glass of wine in the evening sun watching the rabbits and listening to the woodpecker...so relaxing and peaceful. The children loved all the channels on the TV, the beds were even comfier than at home. I loved lying in bed with the window open all night...so peaceful. I spend months looking for holiday accommodation and we always look for luxury. This was my favourite by far, it just had everything with the perfect hosts as well. Graham and Dawn were so lovely, friendly and approachable. If you are thinking of booking DO IT, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I want to return in October so we can try the wood burner! Plus there is so much more we haven’t seen. I could go on...

Just returned from spending a week at this glorious Gite in St Maude. After a long journey we received a very warm welcome from Dawn and Graham to their superbly equipped Gite in a beautiful setting. Everything is provided, so it feels like home from home and has been the perfect base to explore the area and visit family. We would love to return again in the future.

We have stayed in several holiday rentals in France but we must say that this was the best; it was perfectly clean and supplied with absolutely everything you could ever need in a holiday home. The kitchen was brilliant and spacious and it was a pleasure to cook and dine in. The cottage is spacious, comfortable and perfect for groups of adults and families. The picturesque grounds and abundance of wildlife are a constant source of entertainment but Graham and Dawn have gone the extra mile with their addition of a trampoline, swing and fantastic indoor heated swimming pool. This is a professionally run holiday rental service with the right amount of support when you need it and space when you don’t. We have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to you. We loved our week staying in this perfect cottage which was equipped with everything we could want, spotlessly clean and furnished to a high standard. We were welcomed by Dawn and Graham who were friendly, helpful and generous supplying a welcome pack, a supply of wood for the fire and their time. The location is tranquil and very rural - we loved sitting on the back terrace looking over the countryside and enjoying the late Autumnal sunshine. We had taken our bikes and within an easy driving distance were able to cycle along the glorious Nantes/Brest canal, nice and flat, very quiet and absolutely stunning. A dip in the heated pool completed a perfect days activities. There is surprisingly plenty to do in the area, lots of lovely villages to explore and beautiful beaches within reach, although a bit quiet in October! We enjoyed a couple of lunches out in local creperies but in the evening preferred to stay in our cosy cottage around the fire. We would, without hesitation, recommend this property to others.

We spent our Summer holiday in this lovely gite at St Maude and got back last week. We've had a truly smashing time. The gite was ideal for us. It was scrupulously clean, extremely well-equipped, spacious, well-laid out and in a nice, rural location in France. Dawn and Graham could not have made better hosts. We found them to be friendly, helpful and welcoming but never intrusive. Dawn - I loved the invitation to the exercise class and meeting the other ladies and seeing your amazing cake creations. Graham - we really appreciated seeing the photos and hearing how the gite and house had been developed. What made this holiday so good for us was the freedom. There was loads of outdoor space to play badminton, croquet, volleyball and lollop around reading with just the trees and sky in the distance. We loved the pool - really nicely done. And also liked being able to stroll out the door and along the lane for an evening walk or cycle. We enjoyed the gite and surroundings so much that we only ventured out a few times. The Buddhist Centre made for a fascinating outing one evening. We went to Lac de Guerledan for canoeing, which was a really nice place to paddle and very good value. We liked the local crepes but actually cooked at home a lot as the kitchen had every pot or utensil you might need. It was lovely to make a simple lunch and eat on the terrace under the brolly. All wonderful. We didn't really want to come home!

We've just returned from a perfect week in Graham and Dawn's beautiful gite in Plouray. We cannot emphasise enough how lovely this place is, and how well-looked after we were from the moment we arrived (as the Tour de Bretagne passed by the end of the driveway, incidentally). Graham and Dawn have thought of everything, as another reviewer has mentioned, and the accomodation is such high quality that, frankly, you'll find it hard to drag yourself away each morning. Location-wise, it's perfect - around an hour to the Finistere/Morbihan coast and plenty to do in local towns and villages too. We particularly enjoyed our visits to Lorient, Concarneau and, at Dawn's suggestion, our trips to Pont Aven, Lac de Guerledan and Mur de Bretagne, amongst others. As already mentioned, there's not a single facility missing - even a full range of UK freeview channels on TV, if you want them - and it's very comfortable indeed, both inside and out. Spotlessly clean and very beautifully decorated. The bonus is the lovely new pool which, although not quite finished, was a very welcome distraction at the property. Lovely big garden, with trampoline and room for a little one to run around. Many, many thanks, Dawn and Graham - we've had such a brilliant week and will definitely be back (and that's a very big compliment from a family that never goes to the same place twice!).

We had a lovely time in this delightful house which was decorated in the french style and was provided with everything we needed by our hosts, Graham and Dawn. They live next door but were never intrusive. However they were on hand to help us with any little problems. We especially loved the terrace, facing lawns with baby rabbits hopping about, and the chestnut woodland beyond. The atmosphere was especially relaxing. There were many pretty little towns within easy reach, and it was not far from the beaches on the south coast which were perfect for swimming. A memorable stay and we would happily return and recommend this cottage to friends.

St. Maudé is tucked away deep in the Morbihan beautiful countryside a very short drive of a couple of minutes away from the very quiet village of Plouray where the basic amenities of day-to-day life are available. The cottage is of very generous proportions, comfortably furnished and Dawn and Graham have thought of just about everything that you could possibly want or need. With a quiet and lovely view from the rear patio you can sit there for hours just listening to the bird singing. Dawn and Graham couldn’t be more helpful or welcoming and even provided basics foodstuffs and even some fresh eggs from their chickens plus a much appreciated bottle of wine. As a couple, Dawn and Graham are much more like friends then hosts and their kindness and humour left a lasting impression. We were sorry to leave but are hoping very much to return soon.

Fabulous place! We have stayed at many gites but this tops the lot. Superb accommodation, lovely, light, airy house which is very well equipped. Outside space is also excellent as you have your own woodland to explore. We stayed, in summer, but would love to return in Autumn and try out the woodburner! Dawn and Graham are the perfect hosts - there if you want them but very discreet otherwise. Fantastic place for kids with lots of play equipment and huge outdoor area to explore, safely. Thank you both for making us feel so welcome.

Formidable emplacement, en pleine campagne, à l'orée des bois. Grande propriété engazonnée, avec jeux de raquettes et trampoline pour les enfants, sans compter les jeux de société disponibles. La piscine est chauffée, couverte (dans un chalet), très propre, accompagnée d'un baby foot. Parfait. Le cottage est propre et excellemment équipée. Située en pleine nature avec les oiseaux pour seuls compagnons, cette propriété nous a ravis par son calme, son immense jardin parfaitement entretenu, sa piscine privée, couverte et chauffée, et par la discrétion et la disponibilité de Graham et Dawn. Seul bémol, pour des personnes ultra connectées...le wifi local ne donne pas accès à internet, ni le réseau GSM (tantôt en E, tantôt en H+). Mis à part ce détail, on recommande vivement ce cottage !
