About this house rental
Casablanca is only available a few times each summer, it is our family home and we fill it up often.
Casablanca was completed in 1896 and we are the third family to take care of it. In 1961 my parents bought the home and kept the history. Most of the furniture is original and our guests feel like they are stepping back in time.
The home comes compete with everything you will need for a fantastic stay. From satellite TV, WI-FI, full kitchen and grills, lawn games and equipment, fire pit with cut wood, swim rafts and fishing tackle, stand up paddle-boards and kayaks and canoes and sailboats, all set up for your use.
If we don't have it we can arrange for you to get it, whatever you need to make this the greatest vacation, reunion, weddings, parties.

This is one of those reviews you sort of hate to write because you don't want everyone to find out about a place that's so special. Yet in fairness to Phil and Nancy, I must.
The house, Casa Blanca, is everything in the pictures, and more. It still has the grand feel of the 1800s, but with updated conveniences. 16 women artists came to the island to write and paint, and it was fabulous.
First, it was plenty big for 16. The many bedrooms are comfortable and some are fantastic. There is not a window you can look out that doesn't have a breathtaking view. Boldt Castle is just across the bay. The property is expansive, with lots of places to explore , a gazebo, gargoyles that were once signals during prohibition and hammocks for lazy afternoons.
Perhaps best of all, Phil and Nancy are consummate hosts. They ferreid us to and from the mainland when necessary, gave advice on stores and restaurants, and let us treat their home as our own. I'd be remiss not to mention that Luke is the most agreeable handyman on the planet.
Sometimes you give a place five stars because there wasn't anything wrong with it and the owners are nice. Casa Blanca is the kind of place that truly rises above, what 5 stars were meant for. A magical place, that, once you've been, you dream of going back as soon and as often as possible. Many thanks for a wondrous stay.

We stayed in the boat house (all was as promised) adjacent to the mansion. A few minutes boat ride from Alex Bay, with mainland parking and dock even closer. Cherry Island, (in the midst of famed "Millionaire's Row") has a total of 5 or 6 houses.....Casa Blanca is all you need as you get to enjoy most of the estate... including a gazebo where you are guarded by the gargoyles overlooking the channel...watch the ships pass by. Phil & Nancy are gracious, helpful hosts and while away one eve, offered their "big house" porch so we could enjoy the sunset....unforgettable! Boathouse has dock, paddle boards, kayaks, a canoe, floating tubes, fishing rods, plus a gas grill for your use...also enjoyed P&N's yacht for sunning, diving and socializing. View from dock = overlooking 3 or 4 more mansions on the mainland. Advice: JUST DO IT! ......would definitely recommend to friends.....we will be back.
