About this cottage rental
La Baguette was the 18th century boulangerie for the farm and still has the original clay and stone oven. However, this is now the perfect place to relax and unwind in the heart of the Normandy countryside. Situated just four miles from the vibrant town of Villedieu-les-Poeles, one mile from the nearest bar / shop for your morning croissants and twenty minutes from the beach at Brehal, it is a perfect place to enjoy the peaceful surroundings yet to be close to bars, restaurants, historic places to visit, and of course, the Normandy landing beaches. Bayeux and Mont St Michel are within an hours drive and Granville, known as the Monaco of the north as well as the birthplace of Christian Dior, is less than thirty minutes drive.
La Baguette has its own private garden securely fenced for any well behaved four legged friends.Here we hope you will enjoy dining al fresco, watching the beautiful sunsets or reclining in the sun. Bikes are provided for the more energetic (please bring your own helmets) and there are walks from the property that can take you to the fishing lake. Cows outnumber neighbours and the occasional passing tractors will outnumber cars!
The property has been newly renovated to a high standard. Oak furniture, leather sofa and footstool and Laura Ashley soft furnishings throughout. The bedroom is vaulted and beamed and the king size bed has a very comfortable mattress. A hair drier is provided. The lounge area has a comfortable seating arrangement and satellite TV is available as well as free wireless broadband and an iPod dock. There is also French satellite TV available. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who like to cook whilst away!
The nearest supermarket is at Gavray and it has a petrol station and car wash. A post office can be found both in Gavray and Villedieu.
We will supply a cot and highchair upon request, but please bring your own cot bedding. The property has heating in every room for those who would like to visit in the cooler months and is festively decorated for those that visit over Christmas and New Year.
Please note that apart from Christmas, all bookings are Saturday to Saturday.
