Peace and seclusion set against a background of rushing water and birdsong in this characterful converted water mill in a semi-wilded woodland garden deep in the Breton countryside. The gîte is comfortable and well-equipped. No TV or WiFi but plenty of books in English and German. Amenities (supermarket, restaurants etc) about 6 miles away in Guémené-sur- Scorff; local family run bistrot 2 miles away in Kernascléden is good but not open every evening.

Beautiful idyllic little cottage that is perfect for a romantic get away for two. Christine was there to greet us when we arrived and gave us a helpful tour of the property and gardens which I have to say are like something out of a fairytale. Privacy was afforded for our entire trip however, if we had need of it Christine was only a stones throw away. A lovely welcome pack of nibbles and drinks were waiting for us. The property had great little kitchen which meant we were able to buy things from the local supermarket and cook. I absolutely loved eating breakfast every morning sat at the table with the window open looking at the stream outside. The property is located in a magical woodland area which was perfect for romantic walks and exploring. I will definitely be recommending this property to my family and friends.

Magical, it was like living in a fairytale.

We stayed ten days in this beautiful part of France and used this property as a base for day trips around Brittany. Our hosts and owners of the cottage Chris and Norbert were wonderful, they were waiting for us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the amazing garden along with handy information on where to find the best cafes, markets and site seeing. They also provided a hamper of very delicious local food (including tea, coffee, milk and butter) to tide us over until we could get to a supermarket the next day. The cottage was really well equipped and beautifully decorated, the kitchen was new and kitted out with top quality appliances and utensils, I particularly liked the crockery and very sharp knives and we didn't even need a salad spinner. The cottage was cosy with a very easy to operate log fire, we used it every night (we were able to use the wood from the property beautifully cut to size by Norbert). Books and games were in the cottage. The updated bathroom also had heating. It is a magical place set in gorgeous grounds which are yours to wander whenever you want, it is so pretty you half expect to see a fairy darting about! It's located in a rural area which gives it much of it's charm so if you expect to walk to a cafe or village or need to be connected to the internet or have constant phone coverage this may not be the place to stay, if you want to escape the stresses of life, walk in the countryside and stay in a unique and truly unforgettable place this cottage is perfect. We were very happy to have found this little treasure and to have met our hosts who were truly welcoming but also respectful of our privacy. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay.

    Delightful, tranquil

We received a very warm welcome from Christine and Norbert. It was like stepping back in history, no tv, no mobiles or internet. We were able to completely relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings. The garden was alive with butterflies and other insects. The river was amazing with a couple of resident kingfishers. We were given the most wonderful welcome pack and offered clean linen at the end of our first week. We would definitely stay here again, absolutely wonderful.
