We had to cancel at late notice for a serious (life-threatening) medical condition for which we offered the host medical evidence. This was never taken up. We spoke to Vrbo prior to speaking to the host. The host tracked me down through WhatsApp and communicated directly. She was hostile and kept arguing that we had done her harm. She was most unsympathetic. We had planned our honeymoon directly after the wedding. This was to be our honeymoon. The host has since said she is seeking “maximum compensation”. I cannot believe she is seeking to make additional profit out of a medical situation beyond our control. What a heartless individual.

The house was great, the pool and everything provided in the house made it easy to enjoy our vacation. Very good location just a few minutes drive from the old Lucca. Nice and helpful hosts! We really recommend this and would love to come back!

What am amazing house in Tuscany! Grietje and Michael are very welcoming and the house is beautiful, is perfectly located and has everything you could possibly need. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We'd love to come back and visit again.

We had a lovely time staying in this apartment. There was plenty of space and although there wasn’t aircon there were fans and it was fairly cool inside the nice old building. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay and although the pool isn’t huge it was still great fun and very welcome to cool down in and we had it to ourselves. The hosts are lovely and nothing was too much trouble, they even made a birthday tiramisu for my daughter! Thanks again for a lovely stay we will definitely recommend!

Lovely property, ideal for families. Such a gorgeous garden too. The bikes were a real bonus as we could cycle to Lucca in 10 minutes, and to the supermarket in 4. The host went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Thank you Grietje!

Lovely family villa

This was a lovely family villa in a beautiful area of Italy. Amazing facilities and provisions, super clean, very roomy. A lovely garden for the day and a beautiful courtyard at the back to welcome the sun at breakfast. Gretje was very welcoming and helpful at all times - and the kids loved beautiful Grace the dog and the neighbours kittens! The children also loved the pool - and the town of Lucca is definitely one of our favourite places now in Italy! Only couple of things to watch out for - lots of mosquitos at night at this time of year (and it was very hot!); plus the local village had shut shop for their holidays - a bit of a shame as there would have been lots of lovely places to go to in walking distance otherwise. But we found a little gem locally called Il Circulino, with a lovely little bar and amazing home cooked food - new specials every night and very inexpensive. They even wrote the menu out for us in English!

Best holiday ever!

We were lucky enough to spend 3 weeks here and had an amazing time. As soon as we arrived Greitje and her family went above and beyond to make sure our stay was amazing. The house is gorgeous and anything you might need for your stay has been thought of, the kitchen has every utensil you can think of and lacks nothing! The pool is great and a big hit with all of the family and the location of the house is lovely, very tranquil but close to amenities including a grocery store, pizzeria and butchers. I would also like to say Greitje was a brilliant host and when we had a medical emergency with my youngest son she came with me to the hospital and helped me whilst we had to check him in something which made the experience a little bit less stressful. Highly recommend this place and would love to visit again we are going to miss it very much!

The Best vacation we have ever had

Grietje and her family welcomed us with open arms We didn't want to leave- this home is perfect for families and and there is so much to do! We recommend using the benefits of the home to re coop and relax - Summer here was beautiful - the pool was amazing and we had such a lovely time sunning and relaxing in the deck chairs. The home is warm and cosy at night and cool and comfortable during the day. The rear courtyard has fireflies fluttering during the evening and a great outdoor table for dinners under the stars or a morning breakfast. I can't recommend this home enough. Thank you so so so much Greitje we will NEVER EVER forget you and your family especially Gracie xoxoxoxo

Beautiful property in Pieve San Paolo

I really don't know where to start with how lovely this place is, the pictures on the site do not fully do it justice. Hosts Grieje and Marco are very helpful, providing filtered water and Grieje and Luca even gave us a lift into the town of Lucca. The house is beautifully renovated with all the comforts you could wish for. The kitchen is very well stocked and has everything you need should you wish to cook during your stay. The teenage kids used the pool and loved Grace the dog. The village of Pieve San Paolo is lovely, we ate at Il Circcolino which is a 10 minute walk away and has a lovely area outside. I would love to return one day and highly recommend.

The house was beautiful. It had been beautifully restored and it was a pleasure to stay there. There was lots of extras for cooking like oil, condiments etc. that the hosts thoughtfully supplied. There was plenty of room for our group of 5. We shopped at the local butcher and tiny grocery shop and drank wine at the local bar -all within a few minutes walk. The people were all very friendly. Ten minutes from historic Lucca which was a great place to visit. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect oasis of calm when visiting Lucca and only 10 minutes by car from the town centre. everything as described in advert and in fact house was even better in reality. "We went as a family group of six and had a wonderful time at this house. There were many extras (olive oil, vinegar, coffee, potatoes,onions, garlic, washing up liquid and washing powder - even nail varnish remover) that made us feel more at home and even did some cooking. The owners were very helpful and friendly. We were within walking distance to a bakery and bar that served lovely pasta dishes at lunch time. We know this village well and found the accommodation perfectly situated."

The house is very nice and completely corresponds to its description. We appreciate the most owners hospitality: such small but necessary things as dish washing liquid, bathroom rug or olive oil for cooking let us feel like at home. It is very pleasant of the house owner to take such care of tourists. We should also mention that almost all things were new in the apartments. On the other hand the weather was rainy and we were sligthly disspointed by the dampness in the house. None of our clothers were dried in the house. However this is the only negative point we can say about our stay.

Wir haben unsere 12 Tage in diesem schönen Haus sehr genossen. Nach unseren vielen Ausflügen (Pisa, Florenz, Viareggio, Livorno, Carrara, Grotta del Vento und natürlich Lucca - alles ist bequem zu erreichen ) haben wir uns immer gefreut, den Tag im wunderschönen Garten ausklingen zu lassen. Grace, eine zuckersüße Berner Sennen Dame hat uns dann immer besucht und auch die Nachbarskatzen ließen sich gerne streicheln. Der Pool hat für die nötige Erfrischung gesorgt und der große Tisch mit Stühlen für die Bequemlichkeit. Allerdings ist es richtig, daß nur das obere Doppel-Schlafzimmer mit einer Tür abgeschlossen werden kann und man abends ab und zu mal die Bahn hört, beides hat uns allerdings nicht gestört. Die Vermieter sind super nett und haben uns mit Pfirsichen, Pizza und guten Tipps versorgt - Mille grazie !

Schön renoviertes altes Reihenhaus. Grietje wohnt nebenan und ist unaufdringlich aber sehr hilfsbereit. Gut ausgestatte Küche, gute Betten. 5 Minuten mit dem Auto nach Lucca. Eine Bahnlinie ist Nachts zu hören, hat uns aber nicht gestört.

Een hele fijne vakantiewoning. Grietje en Marco respecteren de privacy van hun gasten en zijn heel attent. Ook de huisdieren, hond Grace en de katten waren ontzettend gezellig! De stad Lucca binnen handbereik en je kan gebruik maken van de fietsen. We hebben er een fijne start van onze vakantie gehad!

Très agréable location idéalement située pour visiter la Toscanne (Lucca, Pise, Florence, San Gimignano, San Miniato et meme Portovenere avec sa belle plage). Le logement est confortable, bien équipé. La piscine est très chouette, Idéale pour les enfants et meme pour les parents. Les propriétaires sont trés accueillants et très discrets. Merci beaucoup. Nous avons passé de trés bonnes vacances.
