Be close to nature with this base to explore beautiful North Pembrokeshire, or just relax with the views or stargaze by the fire.
Damson Cabin in the old orchard, with its own private space and decking area. Set on a smallholding south facing towards the beautiful Preseli mountains.
Offering comfort whilst being an alternative off grid holiday, the low impact accredited site is a mixture of short grass and wild areas, attracting lots of birds, bats, and other wildlife, to the delight of our visitors. This year a family of sparrows nested in the eaves of Damson’s porch, and a resident owl is regularly spotted.
Popular destination throughout the year, there’s lots of outdoor and indoor activities closeby, within easy reach of beaches, coastal paths, woodlands, or indoor music, theatre, art and crafts.
Enjoy an autumn/winter break settling in front of the log burner at night, also with no neighbours there is little light pollution so star gazing is recommended. Ideal for Christmas breaks and valentine celebrations. Early summer near the coast is milder, warmer weather often with sunny days, so a great chance to see the snowdrops, then daffodils and swathes of bluebells in our wooded path.
This off grid retreat has no mains electric or water, it does have its own electric shower just down a small pathway. There is also LED lighting in the kitchen shed and toilet from a solar system.

Absolutely disgusting nothing like advertised online a shed in an overgrown field no view no lock on the door shower was full of woodlice looked like a junk yard my parents did not stay here and jane has refused to refund my parents my mum was in tears at the state of the place we have travelled all over the place in cabins tents caravans but never come across a place so bad all the host said was woodlice wont hurt you the drink tap was so low ro the ground that rats could reach so disappointing when people make the property to be something it definitely isnt someone needs to go out and review this property

Absolutely loved our stay. We had 7 days of absolute heaven, away from all the pressures of life. Great place for your four legged friends as well, we could let them play freely with the knowledge that they were safe and secure. Hosts great and always available. Will definitely be staying again. Arrived friday mangers to property said hi heres book and contact number for friend who.was only popping into.freed ther pets as they was away for weekend . Pictures on.line look.nothing like the place , but the cabin.was cosy , advert says there is bbq we was told it its in kitchen area its was still.in box had to buld it before use , paths overgrown couldnt get to excrise area for dog ,could not see signs to entrance to property if you dont look carefully you miss the red 5 bar gate to entrance ,mangers came back.late sunday sent txt to say they was back but didnt see any 1 as we left bank.hoilday monday but it didnot spoil ower weekend away

Spend a few days with kids 12 and 9. At first they complained especially about the outside toilet :) they cried when we were leaving that they want to stay. We have a great time collecting firewood, lighting a bomb every night. on the last morning a little robin flew into our cabin. It was amazing to be able to help him to get out. Great place to slow down, and enjoy every moment.

On arrival I was met by Jane. Her dog Nell played with my dog which was lovely. The cabin was comfortable and roomy. It was lovely to be able to sit outside and relax and unwind. The little kitchen was a nice place to prepare food. If you are looking for a place to unwind and get away from the hustle bustle of daily life I can highly recommend it.

Great location, very pleasant hosts, safe & secure. A fantastic stay if you want to escape the busy noisy rat race to recharge your batteries. Get back to wildlife. Beautiful log fire to set the evening off or a fire outside with a few drinks just listening to the birds and looking at the stars. If you looking for peace and quiet with the one you love then this is definitely the place to go.

Very pleasant stay, just what we was looking for. Jane and Martin was very friendly and helpful and made us welcome. Welcomed our dog and she even met and played with Nell. Would highly recommend for a peaceful of grid break in nature.

Hi, it's very good accommodation for summer time. But they not should advertising for end of October and November. It's to cold. Cabin has not electricity. We didn't used shower it's freezing. Garden is massive good if you have a pets. We booked for 3 nights but left early. 😰😂😂😂

Disappointing beyond belief

Needed somewhere to stay that accepted 4 dogs. Emailed Jane who was lovely and accommodating. Emails answered very promptly. Two days before our stay, I was Emailed to say the cabin (Damson) where I'd booked was having a new floor and it wasn't ready, would we be prepared to move to Preseli, their other cabin. As long as our dogs were contained and safe, I wasn't bothered which cabin we stayed in. This time the emails were taking hours to be replied to, not good when you're not sure what's happening with your holiday. Arrived after a 6hr journey - to a notice on the gate saying closed, and it looking like it was securely locked. Phoned the number which was answered by Jane - told to come in - as lock was for show. Parked up - was told how to get to cabin, not shown - walking with all our gear and the dogs. The disappointment hit us straight away. It was dilapidated, run down, dirty and full of dead insects and cobwebs. The cabin looked like the pictures had been taken about 10+ years prior. Not a good representation, this is not what I was expecting. The porch floor had collapsed. The flooring inside was totally mismatched and bodged. The door cladding around the '4 poster' bed was dark and made it look scary. Then a door with a skeletons hand randomly at the side. Other side of room was more pleasant although the blind only covered about 2/3s of the window. The door bolted shut from the outside - but couldn't be secured from the inside. On going outside to clear up after my dogs, I found I was actually clearing up after someone else's dogs too, it was everywhere. The eco toilet was not a pleasant experience. You could see everything down there, I've done Glastonbury on the Sunday and it not look as bad as this one. Didn't use the shower - but had a quick look - it looked clean, although tiny. We were booked in for 2 nights, but left after 20 hrs, most of this time we spent away from the cabin. I've taken photos to compare against the ones used to advertise the property. The difference is shocking, so out of date. Disappointed is a total understatement.

I needed time to relax and find time for ME. I found this place to be perfect and close to Nature. Jan and Michael made me feel welcomed. The cabin provides privacy, a close nature experience with birds, bees, rabbits, sheep, cows, fresh air, the warmth of log fire and candles for a light, variety of garden shrubs, flowers, trees and bushes. I was amazed and respected their efforts to make break not only eco-friendly but a perfect balance with comfort and nature. Thank you

Pleasant location and surroundings. Good on privacy. The owners did all they could to ensure that we enjoyed our holiday. COVID-19 restrictions meant that the owners were not able to give us their introductory talk, which would have been useful e.g. operation of toilet. The online listing we felt was too brief especially in regard to kitchen space: what was provided and what we needed to bring with us in the way of utensils, cooking stoves etc. However the owner clarified this with us beforehand. Storage space was a bit of a problem in the kitchen and in the cabin, where to hang clothes etc. The location was a bit close to a busy road and we needed to take the car wherever we went, nearest local shop is 3 miles away. Lovely location of the cabin within the camp-site with private shower and private wild-life garden complete with birds and a tame wren.

We spent the weekend at Damson, a gorgeous little cabin with everything you need to pause and reset away from the treadmill of daily life. The birds nesting in the eves were our alarm and our tv was the stunning view and beautiful wild flowers all around. My morning yoga was the most peaceful and calming I have experienced practiced in the middle of the little camping paddock. Jane and Martin were the perfect hosts with lots of local knowledge especially places to walk with our dog who made a new best friend of their gorgeous Nell. We will definitely be back soon and if I could move in I would!

We had such a beautiful few days. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Cosy wood burning stove, birds nesting in the eaves of the cabin, cocophony of morning and dusk bird song, star and moon gazing by the fire pit, listening to the night owls, dips in the sea only minutes away (Newport was our favourite).... The accommodation itself was lush. Cosy and prettily done out, rustic, back to basics, no WiFi or mod cons. Just what we wanted! And Jane & Martin were so incredibly friendly, informative about their ecological way of life and the local area. For those with dogs, it's a gem of a find. They had an extremely friendly and inquisitive dog called Nell who our little girl fell in love with. We can't wait to get back some time. But definitely not travelling in the Easter weekend EVER again!! ;-) Apart from the travel there and back, it really was stunning. So much to explore and it seems, relatively unspoilt. Do it!!!!

We stayed at Damson cottage, and it was fantastic. Lovely atmosphere in and around the cabin and Martin and Jane were lovely. Newport Beach, which is a 10-15 minute drive away, is incredible. We’re already planning on coming back next year.

I needed some quiet time off grid and to be close to nature and this was the perfect place for it. I originally went for a week but ended up staying for two. Jane and Martin are helpful and friendly, (they made me a cup of tea when I arrived somewhat late on the first day, which was most welcome). It did take a couple of days to put the "modern" world behind me but then I began to tune in to the rhythms of nature that are all around in this lovely spot and found myself wishing that I could stay indefinitely.
